  1. America has never been about quality. The entire American ethos of consuming is for every product to be "bang for the buck" which is the antithesis of paying for quality.

  15.  @christopherw2233  German cars are fine, it's just that US takes appalling care of their cars, for a start all German cars are supposed to run on 95 Ron fuel, not 91 that most of you put in. Also we service cars annually and don't take trips for just 500 metres.

  20. @DexMaster881  The inspection is not that rigourous. Brakes, emissions, steering, suspension and body integrity, that's about it. If you can't afford that, you can't afford to eat all those McDonald's either. It's no excuse and is rather an arrogant viewpoint that only Americans drive to work

  40.  @IWrocker  Russia is more diverse because it contains dozens of unique regions as well as a number of different ethnicities. It's impossible for the world's biggest country which stretches from Europe to Asia to not be more diverse than the USA .

Desertification doesn't mean that an area that becomes a desert suddenly becomes part of the Gobi, Kalahari, Sahara etc. Any desert which forms in Portugal (100's of miles from the Sahara) won't be classified as part of the Sahara desert.

  47.  @davidcolin6519  Yes exactly. My point was that the belligerent Pole moaning about cameras has got it the wrong way round. Furthermore, if you have front and back plates then a SINGLE camera can collect data from cars in both directions. Si llt fact is that in the majority of the world, front and rear plates are mandatory and 99% of car manufacturers design cars to accommodate this.

  49. Why are you baffled? Diesels main benefit is higher MPG. MPG isn't remotely important in the USA because a gallon of petrol is practically free. Could you really not think that far?
