America has some of the least safe driving in the western world despite lower speeds. This contributes.

@DexMaster881 The inspection is not that rigourous. Brakes, emissions, steering, suspension and body integrity, that's about it. If you can't afford that, you can't afford to eat all those McDonald's either. It's no excuse and is rather an arrogant viewpoint that only Americans drive to work
19
@automation7295 There's nothing wrong with having old cars, but don't you think that on order to use them, they ought to be ROADWORTHY?
17
America has never been about quality. The entire American ethos of consuming is for every product to be "bang for the buck" which is the antithesis of paying for quality.
17
It's weird when Yanks say "I could care less" it makes zero sense
12
@DonDadda45 Putting people in prison.
12
@saxon-mt5by Like what? Americans need to stop taking everything as being literal. It's called hyperbolic language. I'm sure there might be some American products which are high on quality, but quality in general isn't part of the American psyche to the same degree it is elsewhere.
12
@JesusMagicPanties Europe is a far more free place than the USA. USA ranks something like 17th for freedom.
12
@blahmcblahface3965 US accident rate per 100k is TWICE as high as UK DESPITE the US having low speed limits.
10
@Mattlawton-ft6ew The US has an obsession with "bang for the buck" over quality, so virtually everything they make is cheap and nasty.
10
America has an obsession forgetting tje most from the least money hence quality is immaterial. It's why virtually every product they make is low on price but low on quality. They think luxury just means "bigger"
9
@gregmayoaussie Kinder isn't American chocolate though. It's Italian
9
@wlbond008 You don't. It is the United Nations, not the United States
9
@wykydytron US plates look shite
9
Loud American? Is there any other type?
8
@Muchoyo Han er Dansk, ikke Engelsk, Engelsk er hans annen språk.
8
@JesusMagicPanties Sounds like you should take off your tin foil hat. Clearly if all you have to worry about is number plates, then your life is probably pretty good.
8
@christopherw2233 German cars are fine, it's just that US takes appalling care of their cars, for a start all German cars are supposed to run on 95 Ron fuel, not 91 that most of you put in. Also we service cars annually and don't take trips for just 500 metres.
7
I love Almdudler, always drink it in Austria.
7
Same population? Europe has 746 million, USA has 330 million
7
@karenneill9109 Then it would be Fineland if it was a pun on it being the best country. Findland isn't a pun on anything in this context
6
One of the funniest things about 'Muricans is that so many of them believe they are the most free country in the world, in reality they're ranked about 15.
6
@Vectorspace000 Ensuring it yourself is marking your own homework, hence why American cars are such ancient wrecks. Also, many of their pickups don't even require an emissions test.
6
@AT-nq6cu Household appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines are terribly low quality in the US. US cars have incredibly cheap interiors made with low grade plastic and have shoddy cheap steel on the exterior. I had a Dodge Challenger in Texas and the hood rippled at 70mph. American food is the lowest quality on the western world. There's a good reason why a lot of American goods are not exported. American made Tesla are lower quality than the Chinese made Tesla.

Darwin Award
6
@ane-louisestampe7939 You give the kid a gun to play with instead.
6
@dicem8977 at least spell it right
5
America has an obsession with getting things cheap, which means that quality suffers. Hence why cars, houses, kitchen appliances etc are so rubbish.
5
@saxon-mt5by So good in fact that they went out of business. Not really a very good example and having to back to pre WW2 to name something of quality that came out of America is rather scraping the underneath of the barrel. Both brothers were Germans.
5
@AnOldEnglishBloke Henry Ford also had some links with the Nazis
5
@Real_MisterSir Agreed, fairly weak argument if a car company is so stupid to only design for one small market.
5
Only a certain demographic looks down on large cars in Europe. Either it's those who are envious or it's some deluded environmental maniac
4
@iHelpSolveIt The "World" in World Series refers to the original sponsor. The World Newspaper, so this time, the ignorance is on you.
4
Chancellor
4
Who even uses cash?
4
@profwaldone Better tech? Like what? What tech does US have that the rest of us don't have?
4
There's no such thing as Italian beans.
4
@saxon-mt5by And I pointed out that we didn't always speak literally. Have you never said anything like "no one thinks that" or "that's impossible" when it doesn't mean actually literally?
4
@bananenmusli2769 Assumption is the mother of all mistakes.
4
@JesusMagicPanties Like I said, take off your tin foil hat.
4
Bad clothes, bad hair, bad beards, bad shoes, loud, brash, overweight, impatient, showy. You can spot an American a million miles away.
4
San Pellegrino Grapefruit is their best.
4
Americans aren't mature enough to own guns
3
@jennyh4025 You can import ANY car. There is no restriction on things like "visibility" Name me a car that is deemed "illegal"
3
Russia is MUCH bigger than the USA, and Canada is also bigger than US.
3
In Norway it is insulting to tip
3
@IWrocker Russia is more diverse because it contains dozens of unique regions as well as a number of different ethnicities. It's impossible for the world's biggest country which stretches from Europe to Asia to not be more diverse than the USA .
3
@automation7295 A lot of the time what other people do in their countries affects others in other countries. We had an American in the UK who killed a young lad because she drove on the wrong side.
3
@christopherw2233 so you shouldn't blame the cars or their engineering then like you did, but blame the people in your country who buy them.
3
@klamin_original they are actively ignorant. I'm not from the country most of these companies are from but I don't think they're from mine.
