  9.  @Cspacecat  As a geoscientist who works in energy I think you'll find that geothermal is dependent on geology. It's not suitable in all countries at all. Liland gas constitutes such a large amount of our energy requirements that it will take decades to phase out. You are talking about energy storage on a TINY individual level, not enough to run a country on, which is what you'd need of you got rid of oil and gas.

  10. ​ @MorphingReality  What substitutes have you got for plastic, rubbers, tyres, electrical insulation? How are you going to melt steel? How are you going to transport goods? How are you going to insulate millions of homes? How are you going to make glass etc? You haven't thought this through

  11.  @MorphingReality  The timescale that it is being demanded in is LAUGHABLE. You are also not taking into account how long you need to run electric vehicles/transport for before they break even. Heat pumps don't work in old houses, they only work in houses where they are already incredibly well insulated. Retro fitting heat pumps doesn't work, and who is going to pay for it? UK has 35 million houses that use gas, if every house has to pay about £10,000 to convert, it would cost 350 Billion. I see you ignored how you'd replace tyres, rubber, tarmac, concrete, glass, metal etc. Electrolytic simply isn't efficient and is incredibly costly. Also, the internet is 2% of global CO2, why is that never demonised?

  12. Fossil fuel use CONTRIBUTES to climate change, it is NOT the cause. We wouldn't exist without climate change, and being of the view you can turn it back is naive. I think you have also made your point of cars badly. Only 20% of a barrel of oil is used for petrol/diesel, tje rest is used for other things that you could not live without.
