I think the reason that US homes are poor quality is the same reason virtually everything they make is low quality and its all to do with the obsession with "bang for the buck"" It would seem that Americans arent interested in paying for quality, whilst their definition of luxury simply means "bigger". I really cant think of any American made product which i would say was a) stylish or b) well made with quality materials. Everything is built to a price and it badly shows.
