@emekaiheanacho274 Barely, just as we don't buy Lexus or Infiniti, and we don't even have Lincoln or Cadillac. People just see these cars as a poor man's BMW, Merc, Porsche or Audi

@emekaiheanacho274 It's not that Europeans don't want to try anything new, it's that we generally don't like US design and philosophy of manufacture. We define what "luxury" means differently.

@johnmoncrieff3034 Precisely. If you replaced every European car with an electric one, and once all those cars had done at least 30,000km you'd save the planet a whopping 0.5% There are far more important co2 sources to address than demonising cars and planes. Plane travel is just 2% of global emissions , the same as running the internet, but no one ever demonises the internet do they? I do have an electric car as of today, but it's because I live in the only country in the world where they are practical. Norway
1
@neblolthecarnerd Who cares? European cars are only 1% of global co2.

@peterpodgorski We are only five million people in Norway. It's easy to provide the energy we need with the resources here. That isn't possible in UK, Germany, Spain etc with much larger populations.

@peterpodgorski Ha ha ha. Do you realise how long it takes to build a sufficient number of nuclear power stations, let alone the cost? France's energy supply from nuclear only accounts for its ELECTRICITY demand at the present time. If you want to turn over every home business, industry and vehicle to run on electric in addition to your current electricity demand, exactly how many nuclear power stations do you think a country like UK, Germany, Poland etc would need? You really want 1000 nuclear power stations on a continent? You're not considering that changing over everything to Electric is not taking into account overall energy demand, you're only taking into account our current energy demand, not our future energy demand. Also, would you trust a country as rubbish at infrastructure as the UK to safely construct the 150 or so nuclear power stations required to eliminate emissions?

@robthemodYT It has 8, bit most are coming to the end of their lives. The Lib Dem/Conservative coalition turned down building new ones because "it would take too long X" Our energy sources are necessarily diverse, not likely to ever be fully transitions from. Even the most optimistic forecast have UK still getting 50% of ALL energy sources from Fossil Fuel, it's currently 80% despite all the work, and the truly laughable scenario was that until today, Labour had deluded themselves that UK would have 100% renewable by 2030, truly preposterous.
1
@robthemodYT Furthermore, Tue sheer population density of UK wouldn't allow for the number of nuclear power stations required to supply 100% of UK energy needs plus all the additional power required to convert every gas boiler, industrial installation or fossil fuel vehicle.

The G70 Estate is a cool looking car and good value but i just dont think asian car makers ever make ebough effort in their interiors. Anologue dials? Come on.
1
richardharrold9736 Ah, maybe it was the early ones I saw where the left hand ones were analogue and the other half was digital. That is the worst, do one or the other but don't try to blend them, just looks cheap.
1
richardharrold9736 It just looks stupid. It's like having an analogue wall clock with a digital date insert. Personally I prefer digital now, but they need to have them more customisable like you can with Garmin sport watches which have thousands of faces to choose from.

richardharrold9736 Preferably within tasteful boundaries though which aftermarket options rarely are. I wouldn't be against manufacture dials having more than one or two options. Seems a terrible waste to just keep it on something which is often pretty drab. Even being able to change colours or which side the dials are on. Interiors for most manufacturers are a terrible missed opportunity, and not just dials, the whole thing could be a lot more interesting, tactile, ergonomic and stylish but it seems to be made to the lowest cost for most, whereas I'd happily add a couple of grand to have something nicer inside, after all that's where you are spending all your driving time.

Genesis is a terrible name for a car company.
