@jdtseventyfour I had an XE after my faultless XF. The XE was in the dealer every month for a year for build quality issues, broken sunroof, poor build quality, electrical issues etc. Got rid after 12 months. Horrible ownership experience.

Tesla clearly based their S Model on it.

@petesmith1924 15mm wheel spacers? Ha ha ha. Why on earth would you mention that?

@Gentleman...Driver Times move on. I haven't met anyone who thought harking back to a Jag Mark 10 would have been good. They already tried that with the S Type and it wasn't exactly a success.

They were really let down by a crappy infotainment. So low rent compared to the BMW of the time. The facelift came way too late.

@xyz-md2mv It plays a part. Jaguar really let down their customers with this cheap infotainment system of that era that ended when they launched the Pivo with larger screen. Of course it matters because you spend all your time with a car inside it driving and it's a let down.

@Gentleman...Driver I can certainly see the appeal, I just think that many car makers have tried the retro look, and very few have succeeded. I thought the updated XJ was quite interesting, and it was certainly on my radar 10 years ago. I think the day of the saloon car is gone now though, and as such I think it would be difficult for Jaguar to accommodate a retro styled car in a different body style. Jaguar was always up against it because BMW, Audi and Merc could do what they did, just at a notch above in terms of quality. I'll always have a soft spot for Jag, but unfortunately, I think they've killed themselves because they couldn't find a niche to operate in and didn't really have a target market.

@Gentleman...Driver There's JLR dealerships in every major city, can't speak for whatever country you're in, presumably North America with your use of "sedan" instead of "saloon". I think that Jaguar mostly missed the mark on "luxury" in this era in the same way that Lexus, Cadillac, and Lincoln also fail and are guilty of. It's just not quite there, and whilst I can excuse Japanese and US cars because we define luxury differently (luxury just means bigger and ANY leather in US) I can't excuse Jag for this 2012-2019/20 era for their cost cutting and especially the poor interior design. They dramatically improved with the Pivo infotainment combined with a better interior but it was sadly too late by then. RIP Jaguar.

@petesmith1924 I think it's a really strange thing to mention. No one cares what "spacers" you have or what exhaust you have. It's like someone showing you their holiday photographs.

@petesmith1924 I'm just amazed that you think anyone would be interested in how you, someone they don't know and will never meet has modified their car. It's a weird level of self obsession it seems.
