  1. It doesnt matter, bit given its the BBC, its clearly a token casting to tick some diversity boxes. How does being a blatantly token award affect the actor? Be interested to know that being black and gay was the obvious primary characteristics they were always going to go for and how that makes him feel.

  2.  @basylpeterjones  Of course its tokenism. BBC were desperate to get a non white male in the role, guarantee that no one white was ever considered, which is racist in itself. They are all about forced diversity and this is an example of it. What are you on about anyway? Black Dr Who's ARE underrepresented.

  4.  @basylpeterjones  You dont know tje BBC very well do you? This is an institution which advertised another role ONLY for black applicants. They are DESPERATE to be seen as right on.
