Westminster never did boast about a low death rate anyway because like Scotland it was NEVER anything to boast about.

  23.  @retinalcircus  No they aren't. It has been demonstrated masks in normal use (not in a controlled scientific setting) were not effective to any significant degree. If they were, we would have been required to wear a particular type and not just be advised to wear a "face covering", which could amount to anything e.g. Sturgeons toy facemask. Masks are used primarily in surgery to stop spit getting into open wounds in operation theatres, they are not designed to stop the spread of viruses.
