  1. Yeah, there are plenty of messed up people going around, free to mess up their own lives, and no one's clamoring to be their conservator/guardian.

  2.  @Kmmlc  I'm only an attorney licensed in North Carolina, but that probably isn't the case. Most likely the person could petition to change the conservatorship, but it's still up to the judge. A new spouse wouldn't automatically become the conservator.
