This is a very important subject. Furthermore the job market is so saturated, I am sure there are many depressed, recent law school graduates who need help and paying jobs. I graduated from one of the top law schools but still had a lot of struggles and difficulty find a well-paying attorney job. Add that to the grind of dealing with a bunch of psycho people constantly.

Good analogy. And then afterwards, the ungrateful patient bombards you with grievances and a malpractice lawsuit, and wants a refund.

I agree. Now law schools such as Duke & Georgetown law cost over $65,000 for tuition, fees, and text books. This doesn't even include room & board, and the lost pay for three years. Tuition costs are totally out of control when compared to the likelihood of the graduate getting a real legal job, much less one that pays six figures to make it worthwhile.

Sure. If one is constantly dealing with lying, criminal or family law clients, I'm sure they're more likely to develop depression. Working for businesses and doing transactional work is probably less likely to lead to depression, especially if you get a steady paycheck from an employer.

I understand the struggle, as a solo practitioner who has been practicing for over 20 years. There were many times I wished I had never gone to law school. Working for myself has made things a lot better though. I hope things are going okay for you.

@someonefar5600 yes, as a lawyer I do feel at times everyone's against me. Clients who make your life miserable, then claim you didn't do anything for them & won't pay the final bill are the worst. Btw, I have some legal-themed videos on my channel in case you're interested. Best wishes.

Can you go back to sales? Your sanity is worth more than all those annoying clients and rude people you have to deal with. I'm a solo practitioner, and I understand your struggles. Please take care of yourself first.

@someonefar5600 wow, sorry to hear. There were a couple of times I felt a judge was biased and unfair, but luckily as I get older I don't feel as discriminated against.

Maybe you are fortunate to be in the community of top grads at Stanford & Berkeley?

@flanagamer yes, I agree with you. I know someone who lives in Palo Alto in an ancient tiny old house, and it is worth over $1.3 million. The same house would be worth no more than $250,000 in a better part of North Carolina.

I am sorry to hear this. Have you gotten any professional counseling or help? Most legal jobs are stressful, so it is important to get help now and assess whether you really want to practice law. Hope you are doing okay.
