  2. I think it will take at least one or two upcoming generations until Ukrainians can start forgiving Russia. God knows if Ukraine or Russia will even still exist as we know it now. Germany was also not forgiven immediately after the end of the war, and again it took a generation for the necessary remorse on one side and the willingness to forgive on the other. Russia on the other hand is a country that never came to terms with its own history because they never lost a war. This can be indeed a heavier burden than loosing one. If they had come to terms with their history they wouldnt even have come up with the idea of invading Ukraine.
