@Shenzhou. It is up to the people of Taiwan to elect a leader that can bring peace, freedoms and democracy, which are the values of Taiwan.

@PhiloSurfer NOWHERE did USA promise to slow down selling weapons to Taiwan. In fact, USA should sell more weapons with heavier Chinese military threat, but they didn't.

US position hasn't changed.

@jordie4423 Good to see democratic countries are united against authoritarian and dictatorship.

@PhiloSurfer yes. And China promised not to interfere on Hong Kong's internal affairs including elections

@dragondescendant1 The local rights of the Taiwanese people must also be respected. Otherwise, it will be a matter of conflicts and warfare. Examples include Xinjiang, Tibet, and Hong Kong. They're all part of China, but they're governed differently. That's why the country needs a constitution. 1.4 billion people can't suddenly wake up and decide to abolish the Hong Kong SAR government.

@dragondescendant1 So I want to ask you. The people of Macau have the right to access to Facebook, Whataspp and Twitter. These freedoms are respected constitutionally known as the Basic Law. Should these "minority rights " be disregarded by the "National Laws"?
1
@dragondescendant1 Even during the "One Child Policy " period, a NATIONAL LAW, the "minority options" were respected. Minorities were allowed more than one child. What do you think?

@dragondescendant1 minorities in China are not separatists. The vast majority of Taiwanese are not separatists. The vast majority of HongKongers are not separatists. The vast majority of Xinjiang people are not separatists. Numerous studies will back what I said. They're minorities, not separatists. The Central government should treat us like minorities, not separatists. This is what is written in.the Chinese constitution and the Basic Law.

@CyrusJanssen Peaceful reunification between mainland and Taiwan is only possible when Beijing recognizes Taiwan's freedoms and democracy. They haven't. The ball is in China's court.
