  1. You miss an important part of this story... he wants them to go out and vote HIS party. He wants socialism. Rather than get people OUT of poverty, he wants to keep them IN poverty with all sorts of government assistance. Government assistance was never meant to be lifelong. It was meant to help out. With the influx of illegal immigrants, this nation cannot affort to continue funding these programs.
