  1. Was clear from the start. Such shit only works in movies an games, because then a bad writer just decides that it will work. In reality, this is sheer insanity over absolute nothing. Even in best cases: what exactly should they do there? What should they do that couldn't easily be done from the other side? This was 100% sacrificing humans lives by the hundreds and thousands just for an absurd PR victory of "look, we are at the other side of the river".
