  1.  @johnchristopher3032  How would taking Kyiv end the operation? You know how such shit ends, when you just bomb away the government? Look at NATO wars. Russia does not want Kyiv and middle and west Ukraine, because there many anti Russian Ukrainians live - those who tried to slaughter the pro Russian Ukrainians the last eight years. Just taking Kyiv solves nothing, they would have to pacify and conquer whole Ukraine, what Russia never cared for. Overall Russia did not want the whole war and when they intervened in Februar 2022, since it was clear that the Ukro Nazis tried to finish the genocide, they still hoped that the coup regime or at least NATO would be smart or just not bloodthirsty enough to just end the whole shitshow since 2014.
