  1. Uuuuh, public opinion has ALWAYS been manipulated. Of course social media simply did not exist in that way. People talked with each other, but that was very locally limited, so actual news from outside only arrived via? The system. So there was simply ONLY the newspapers and alike, that was the ONLY information you got.

  2. It's not just twitter. The first thing people should learn is: the evil guys will abuse EVERYTHING they can. There is not ONE thing you can identify and then be careful about it and be save. See: when for example religion plays a very big role, evil people will abuse this for their means. And if that leads to collaps and people being very anti-religious afterwards, they will simply abuse that, can even be the same people. Same for the medium. Whatever they can abuse, they will try to abuse.
