@leslielearnorth Why should I look at these countries? They aren't socialistics. They got some socialistic elements and they were by far the best these countries had to offer.
Their problems? Typical capitalistic. In case of Soviet Union the main problem was the constant aggression from the west (up to today in the end), trying to destroy the country over and over and over again, so it's not even like they could have tried to reach socialism, which isn't a system made for war, which demands far more hierarchic control.
Venezuela? The majority of the economy is still in private hands, oftern oligarchs, and guess who made sure that the country would get such gigantic problems, to make it fail and take over again completely to get rid of the social elements, so they can exploit the masses again and not help them.
There is no socialistic country in history. There are countries with socialistic elemenst, like genaral healthcare, education, housing and alike. But it's only socialism, if the whole economy serves society, not just some elements.
