You do get, that those who talk about "freedom" and "libertarism" and alike ARE right winger who abuse the nice sounding word of freedom to talk about THEIR freedom - not yours. The difference between left and right is not freedom, both like freedom, who doesn't? The difference is, that the left want the freedom for ALL and the right wants it for themselves alone. It's the difference between equality (= left) and hierarchy/elitism (= right). And no: calling people or yourself left or right does not make you or them left or right. If you are left or right is solely defined by how you act. Of course right wingers LOVE to call themselves leftists and even talk like them. If someone tries to trick you, sell you a broken car as new for example, that person won't tell you the truth, that he's an assholes who wants to get your money and give you shit for it. He will lie. He will say the exact opposite, that he wants all your best, that he is the one losing money with this deal and and so on. Because the truth would ruin his plan. That's why right wingers love to lie. They want to rule over you, that's what being "political right" means. But when they need to full you for that, so you, out of your own will say: yes, that person sounds great, he indeed should rule!, he won't tell you that openly. Meanwhile when it comes to leftism, it makes no sense for them to lie about it. "Yeah, well, overall many who got a lot will of course get less, since we tak care for everyone, but overall this will be better for everyone, we will have peace, we won't destroy things anymore by fighting each other, we work together, to make the best out of the world by seeing each other as equals, not working for some ruler or ruling class." The right, the capitalists got exactly ONE argument against this: "This can't work, because people want to have more than others and will not accept such a system." Funny, becausel, you see: for a poliicial right system to work, the big majority HAS to lose, so a slim minority gains more. It's a limited system, this includes "freedom". If you want more, you have to take it away from someone else. Right says: great idea, we want more, so we take it. Left says: No, we have limited resources, we have to share these. That's the difference, that's the meaning of these words and if you are right or left is defined which of those ways you follow. In general, it does not need to be an extrem.

  6. Bezos did and does give quite a crap about WaPo. The newspaper was simply almost bankrupt and badly managed, so the owner or so came to him and asked, if he could take over, since he manage Amazon well and got the money. Bezos got no propb with that, but did not care at all about the actual journalism, since he simpy did not see himself in the position to decide about something like that.
