Goal of NATO from the start was to finish was Hitler started. USA was the new "Führer" and they wanted to crush Russia and China, because then they would simply control the world. Also, Russia is by far the richest country on the world, it got enormous ammounts of resources. That's the only reason the NATO exists. Defense? Against whom? The only countries which would attack Europe are other European countries. No one cares to conquerst Europe or USA - for what? Ther is nothing worth to get there. Every war to conquer them would cost more than you could possibly gain from it. No, it's just the good old Euopren imperialism that ruined the world for hundres of years and wants to continue it. But it comes to an end. Only thing that could happen is, that they go completely nuts and indeed start that nuclear war in their insanity.
