AfD is a right wing party created to bait people who are against the current government by choosing all the talkking points against the government, though in the end it's the same lies as you got with Reps and Dems in the USA: they stand for the same shit and all that talk is just that: talk. AfD is going against the actual opposition party we got (which got around as many chances to change something as a third party in the USA...) and wants to work with the system parties. It's like voting for Dems to get rid of the Reps and then when the Dems come to power they do what they do = sell you out and break all promisses. So: no, germand does not understand anything, especially not the voters (just like in the USA).
