  1. Well, populists can stand for all kind of things in effect, not sure what exactly you mean by that, but when you are against the economical right wing systems like capitalism or corporatism (overall pretty much the same thing) that would place you left.

  3. Always hate it when people use lies to reach something, no matter if their goal is good or bad. That bad people lie, sure, they give a fuck, but good people shouldn't, it will poison everything, ruin it and in the end just help the bad people again.

  4. Communism is a social evolution of a socialiastic society. Socialism means, that the economy serves the people, ALL people, not just the oligarchs as in capitalism. From this economical equality the society may rise into a state where the idea of all humans are equal of worth becomes part of them, where they get, that fighting each other isn't worth it and a waste of energy, resources, lives and live together as equals instead, working together (you know, as a 'community') not against each other. This Utopia (because indeed, we are FAR away from that) would be communism, though you could call the goal to reach it also already communistic. Overall the thing communism must have is NO hierarchy of power at least. That's the minimum.

  5. Beside it not being the case - nationalizing stuff doen't make it less right wing... What peopel don't get is: socialism or leftism in general doesn't have anything to do with a strong state. A state can stand for almost everything. If the state itself would be leftists = standing for equality of people, a strong state can be left. But a state can also stand for exact opposite, can be tyrannical = extreme right wing and then the strong state is the worst enemy of leftism. Overall if you want to know: Right = the few rule over the many Left = they don't. That's it.

  6. How? The whole point of the terms left and right is that they are opposites. Left = equality Right = elitism You CAN'T unite it. What you people mean is, if you can unite people who THINK that they are left or right. But you can only unite them inside the left or the right. You can unite them inside the idea of human rights OR despotism. What shall MAGAcommunism be? MAGA stands for... yeah, what? "Make america great again" - that can stand for everything and nothing. You can (try to) make america great again with total nuclear war - or with abolishing the military completely. You can try to make america great again by making it a slaveholder country again - or by abolishing all (power) hierachy (= communism). Anyway, if you follow the idea of communism = no power hierarchy, all people are of equal worth an no one rules over the others, you ARE a leftist, a pretty radical one, too. Radical come from the greek radix = root, so radicla doesn't mean violent - that would be militant - just 'from the root'. A radical solution isn't a violent one, you simply rebuild something from the start, from the root. If you for example not just fiddle around with the current US system, but make a new one, that's radical.

  7.  @jdee3421  Yes, the background is, that those who wanted more rights for the people and were against the tyranny of monarchy were on the left and those who thought that a totalitarian monarchy is awesome and that the slaves should STFU were on the right. That's where it comes from.

  8. Main problem alone would be, that communism is nothing you can just install. It's an evolution from socialism onwards. If you just want to install communism, you would have to enforce it - what would be very anti-communistic. And no, besied all propaganda, we never had a communistic state ever in this world, not even a socialistic one, though some countries are closer to it and have it a s goal. China for example wants to reach socialism around 2050. From that one in some decades or even centuries it might go in the direction of communism, which overall is an Utopia. It's an ideal that might never be reached at all.

  9. The whole definition of these term is based on them being opposites... Problem in the USA seems to be, that they use left and right as... something. Whatever the see fit in the moment. For Fox News for example, the ultra right wing Dems are all "leftists". What is absolute ridiculous. But if you think that who votes for Dems is a leftist and who votes for Reps is right wing, well, sure, that would make it a completely different discussion. Overall joke would be, that Reps and Dems are pretty much one party anyway...
