  185. Not sure if you know the movie "Chicago" with Renee Zellweger and Richard Gere. She plays a woman who had kind of hoped to sleep her way up, when realizing she was just abused by that guy for some quick sex, she shoots him. While she manages to sell it to her husband as self-defense and he willingly take the blame and tells the police that he shoot the guy, the police is a bit smarter than that and know that she was with that guy for quite a while and that is was clearly not robbery, so she ends in prison and likely waiting for life - or even death sentence. Richard Gere meanwhile acts as a lawyer who plays all nice and handsome, but in the end just wants to be paid and is a master in manipulation, epecially of the press he uses to forge to public opinion and by that create pressure on the legal system.. One genious musical number is a press conference they give, wher he mainly tells her to keep her mouth shut and only say some lines to make her look like pure, innocent and the victim, while he tells the story of the monster who tried to murder her and she just reached for the gun, too and was simply lucky enough to have gotten it before him. While Zellweger sits on his lap as puppet and just making her lips move, behind him a whole chorus of press puppets sit who in the end repeat the chorus he had given them "Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes, they both reached for the gun". Someone could easily make a version of it for Ukraine, Zelenskyy as Zellweger, NATO as Richard Gere, the shot guy is Russia and the press just stays the press.

  187.  @alg7115  There IS no defensive line, kid. That's the point. Ukraine had digged such lines, and you got some in Donbass, but in these Kherson regions for example, no one created anythin like that. What you see on the map as some colors is just a vague idea of who got more control over that area. The border is NO fortificated by any means, there is not "break through". You can even see videos, how that control area looks like, even in areas where you got some fortifications. It's some groups of mostly East Ukrainian fighters and volunteers who move around in that whole area. When Ukrains army got in by force, they withdraw, what is simply smart, since overall: there is close to nothing to begin with. You guys got an odd understanding how that scenario looks like, starting at the size of Ukraine. The area Russia and east Ukrainians conquered is the size of a small nation on itself. The idea alone, that you can just create some magical border in such a time frame and defend every single part of it against military aggression is simply absurd. And no, just because you can't defend it completely, doesn't mean, that it is easy to overrun the whole region. You can run in, but just because you 'hold' that area on the map, doesn't give you superiority there. This is not a game, where you conquer a map and its done, you never need to go back and start the next level with a fresh army. You got ONE army and every loss is forever. And when you conquer something, you can't just move on, you now need to defend it, what will likely be way harder than where you came from, because you won't have fortified positions there. This will take away from your overall offensive force on top of your losses you got going there in the first place. And in the end you lose a war, when you got no military left. Controlled area isn't really a point.

  569. Don't see any reason to be happy about Italian election. Our whole european/US shit show is already far right in all its problems. To just go further right from there, it's the same shit as Weimar leading to people falling for NSDAP. Right wing system, you got even further right fascists going for power and you got a left who wants more power to the people (of course brutally fought by the right wing system - just as today, what people call left wing parties are just right wing parties with some paint on their face, they don't deliver left wing politics) - and in the end people were so fucking stupid and really went further right. Right = elitism. The few rule over the many. Why do people want more of that? Because those people tell them that's all for their own good? Yeah, even the original Nazis gave all kind of promises to the people, they even name themselves 'socialist' while being the absolute opposite. People lie - espcially evil and powerhungry people. Just because the EU is shit, thanks to being controlled by crazy right wing extremists like von der Leyen, doesn't mean that everyone who is againt it is any better... And no, I don't think it's good when the EU just ex- or implodes, because: what will be solved by this? The problems won't vanish, in contrary, without working together, they will just multiply, especially with nationalism. What makes Russia so much smarter is their left(!) wing policy. They want peace, they want to work together, they don't want to exploit their power. That's left wing behaviour. Same for China. It tries to improve the life of all its people and that without robbing others. That's also left wing and something you would want to see from people who try to reach socialism and communism.
