  1. That people still come up with that simple attacker/defender thing. It's not medieval age or alike anymore, where you got two side in pretty direct confrontation (and even then a defender can do shit, when the attacker got high range catapulst for example and they don't). Modern warfare is no simle numbers games anymore. Sure, when you want to take over a city, you go back to that pretty direct confrontation (if you don't just want to burn it down). And winter will be terrible for Ukraine, not Russia, neither economical nor social nor military-wise.
