@alg7115 There IS no defensive line, kid. That's the point.
Ukraine had digged such lines, and you got some in Donbass, but in these Kherson regions for example, no one created anythin like that.
What you see on the map as some colors is just a vague idea of who got more control over that area.
The border is NO fortificated by any means, there is not "break through".
You can even see videos, how that control area looks like, even in areas where you got some fortifications. It's some groups of mostly East Ukrainian fighters and volunteers who move around in that whole area.
When Ukrains army got in by force, they withdraw, what is simply smart, since overall: there is close to nothing to begin with.
You guys got an odd understanding how that scenario looks like, starting at the size of Ukraine. The area Russia and east Ukrainians conquered is the size of a small nation on itself. The idea alone, that you can just create some magical border in such a time frame and defend every single part of it against military aggression is simply absurd.
And no, just because you can't defend it completely, doesn't mean, that it is easy to overrun the whole region. You can run in, but just because you 'hold' that area on the map, doesn't give you superiority there.
This is not a game, where you conquer a map and its done, you never need to go back and start the next level with a fresh army. You got ONE army and every loss is forever. And when you conquer something, you can't just move on, you now need to defend it, what will likely be way harder than where you came from, because you won't have fortified positions there.
This will take away from your overall offensive force on top of your losses you got going there in the first place.
And in the end you lose a war, when you got no military left. Controlled area isn't really a point.
