@joeylopez7978 Doesn't really matter anyway. This is not against some goat herders with rifles and a mortar and RPG here and there or against Iraq, already stressed out from war with Iran and Kuwait, then brutally bombared by NATO because ground forces are send in to swipe up the rests. Russia got dozens of systems running to obliterate tanks FAR beyond the firing range of that tank. It's just stupid to compare the tanks, since those will rarely fight against each other. Russia is already taking care of the meager rests of artillery and alike the coup regime got. You send in some tanks? Just more fodder and easier than all the high range artillery system you can simply hide much better, thank to their firing range. 5km? That's pretty much melee range in modern warfare and you are deep in the kill zone of the Russians with that.

@user-zk5ty7pq5g Divide that by the number of countries and take away 80%, because, you know, the use around 40% for training and want to keep further 40% for having an own army.

@User-jr7vf Would even put the 2 FAR before the 1, since good combined arms can even keep a shit crew alive, while you can't do much no matter how good you are, when you don't have the back up to keep you save against all the shit you are simply just helpless against - what is a lot for a tank.

@codaalive5076 They already lost far more than 300 tanks anyway. And they already got no airfleet left. They here and there got some stuff from NATO or repair old crap they got lying around, but that#s it.

@matthiasthulman4058 I love to joke about, taht they should just send in 1000 tanks. Russia will just delte the little rests of the coup regime infrastructure and then you got 1000 tanks standing around.

@enudretheinsult Can't outrun drones, helicopters, jets, artillery and missiles as a tank, that's the problem. Sure, when you slaughter a 3rd world country that mainly got rifles and some mortars and rpg here and there, it's easy to pwn with a Abrams or Leopard (well, should be... even that isn't eas easy as it seems and that against someone you can barely call an enemy).

And even that will help you shit when your tanks isn't part of a working army. Look at Russian BTG. It got 600-800 soldiers with 10 tanks - and many, many, many, many other vehicles, including a full battery of 6 units anti air systems, which not only cuts drones, helictopters and bombers out of the air, but is also used to protec the BTG against artillery and missile strikes if needed. 10 tanks. 6 anti air units. I wonder how well protected the NATO tanks will be, especially because Ukraine does not really have an airforce left. Russia does and when you have to get 5km close for a shot, it does not matter much if you got soldiers with manpads running around, those don't have the range to protect your tank from attack helicopters and other airforce. Surveillance is also incredible important and some satelite imamages of NATO won't help you much during a direct confrontation. Russian ECM and anti air clears the sky of Ukrainian drones, while they got theirs all the time in the ear. Means those precious Battle Tanks are detected and marked very fast. As soldier you can hide somewhere, but there aren't so many places where you can hide a tank.

@jantjarks7946 I wonder how many, since they already HAVE lost MANY hundred tanks and while not every lost tank means the death of the crew, quite a lot will have lost their lives there.

@jklmn101 Your 1 is part of 4 and sorry, especially for a tank combined arms is more imporant than anything else. As tank has a ~5km firing range and is pretty much completely helpess against anything in the air, while everything on the ground can still be dangerous for it, even infantry. You can have the absolute best tank in the world and the best crew in the world, if you got no backup from the rest of your army, especially anti air, you will just get raped.

@jantjarks7946 "Easily" - when you have the needed vehicle for it, a replacment tank and the only problem with your tank is the failing engine. When you see how some of the tanks look like Russia destroys in Ukraine, you better pick up a broom to collect the dust...

@Red95140 Peopel understimate how much experience is needed beyond just training to be actually good. Yeah, sure, you can learn to use it in some weeks, but that's like saying that you can learn to play piano in a few weeks. Of course you will be able to play a piano that fast. Will you be good at it? Unlikely.

@myopicthunder Seems that Russia got a new kind of counter attack radar - which is simply not a rader but works via accustics, what make it horrible hard to detect it. Seems it got a range of 10km+ - so already far more than any tank and as loud as tanks are, it wouldn't even surprise me, that it can detect those too by that alone, long before firing, if close enough.

@astralclub5964 Love how people talk about these wars as if that was just some tanks vs tanks fight. Israel attacked by surprise with a full out airforce attack of close to 200 jets, destroying over 300 egyptian airplanes and killing around 100 pilots. If it would have been the other way around, Israel would already not exist anymore (and how they behave, it's only a question of time, until something goes horribly wrong..., but well, fascists never learn).

And then? Let's say, that they don't get destroy long before or even for the lols during the river crossing (you could likely just snipe the snorkel to drown the engine...). Then you got that tank on the other side, alone. Yeah, that will help.

@p-firelord1676 It's indeed nothing new. Bundeswehr is quite a joke - and wasn't much better in Cold War times. Well known joke there was that the Bundeswehr exists to delay the enemy until real militar arrives, but well , the plan of US fascism was anyway to nuke us, if that would happen. NATO is a suicide cult and everyone shall die for the sect leader USA and his interests. Really astonishing how anyone could want to be part of it beside the USA itself, but well, corruption, I guess. As if anyone would want Europe, ugh... We overall wouldn't need any army at all in germany. For what? No one wants to conquer us. Would have been much better to just shake hands with Russia, so even if someone would get the idea to take that little germany, the wouldn't dare, while Russia got no reason to abuse germany as the USA has. The US system NEEDS the Russian resources to survive. That's the whole and only thing behind the Ukraine war - and all the others before. Was never about 'freedom' or 'democracy'.
