@dmitri3947 You mean a revolution against monarchy. And the USSR dissolved, because Gorbatchev was so naive to think, that if they end the Cold War one sided, NATO would stop, too. Not even Stalin wanted the territories the Soviet Union was forced to hold on to keep NATO fascism and its nukes away from Moscov and Co. Russia LET these countries go. It could have easily hold onto them, it didn't want to.

@Jykobe491 Putin already explained, that everything can of course go faster, but this also means more losses on all sides, more destruction. Of course Russia could just pull a Grozny on Kiev. It does not want to.

It's the same nonsense that leads our western propaganda outlets talk about how much territory the coup regime took back, because they painted massive amounts of territory red simply because Russia went though it during their distraction operation at Kiev.

@dmitri3947 Was a disaster for Afghanistan and the world, because US fascism created a world wide interconnected terror network to ruin Afghanistan and in the end the whole middle east (of course US fascism added many other horrific things to that with additional warmongering, puppet regimes, regime changes and failed states).

Mexican drug cartells could also start a raid into south USA and would be very succesful with that at start. Of course they would never do that, because what could they gain from that? They would never be able to hold it and it would only cost them in the end with no net gain at all. It's the same thing here. Yes, of course it works. But what is the goal? There is none. All goals mentioned by them are the exact opposite of what this will course. It's like the drug cartells doing that with the named goal to push the US influence out of mexico, so they can do their business more freely. Yeah, because that's how it would end...

@RoCK3rAD The coup regime side wouldn't even exist anymore without NATO pumping in all these billions. Take NATO out of it and you got nothing left but crushing debt. They couldn't even pay their soldiers, even less arm them. So it's absolutely clear which side is getting crushed.

Problem is, that this kind of warfare does not work at all with establishing supply lines, which you can't hide and on top of that reveal your positions. So again: this is just insane and will lead nowhere.

@painfullybadnoob If they would protect their land, there wouldn't be any war in the first place. The whole war exists because they attack the people in Donbass, who didn't want to be part of Ukraine anymore after this coup that got rid of the government they had elected.

@rommelthebreton I mean, you can call anything 'strategic', though in case of Kursk I don't even see them able to name any strategy. What they bring up as goals is absurd and the exact opposite of what this will cause. Russia got no reason anymore for any peace talks now and they will not make any trade, in contrary, any possibility for trades are off the table after this. When you just focus on the military possibilities: well, it just ends up as another cauldron. They are encircble, got no ways to get in support without being brutally bombarded, so it's as much of a strategy as running toward a castle wall to let the archers on it slaughter you. Oh, you might fire in some arrows, too, but what's the point?

@FiliusFidelis At that point it's likely that Russia would be forced to declare open war and people don't want to learn the difference of SMO and war. SMO got some limited goals and overall does not see the country its taking place in as an enemy. War means, that Ukraine would be sees as an enemy, the gloves are off and there won't be any holding back anymore, the country will be ruined. Russia could do this since day one, they don't want to, because they don't want to ruin Ukraine, they want to get rid of the fascists and their weapons and secure the Donbass so people can get back home and live there in peace.

@kevinkant6817 If they reached that, it would only end even worse for them. If they would do anything to that nuclear powerplant, Putin would likely be forced to declare war on the coup regime and people really don't want to see what the difference between an SMO and war is...

You won't of course not see them doing that, because even if possible, they got nothing to gain from that, only to lose. This is a typical example of "Not thinking things through." It's like having two brothers in front of you, one a bear of a man and profi boxer the other only 1,6m tall and more on the "girlish" side of muscle distribution. And then you think: "Hey, I could beat up that small guy, easily." - without giving a single thought about, what his brother will do to you after you started...
