  1.  @Brit_Toolmaker  Not, it didn't. Russia never cared to hold Kharkiv, that's why you had zero build up defense there and Russia didn't even try to hold it for a single day. The only real loss was Kherson City - and that was by the Nazis bombarding the dam. Overall the retreat massively improved the position of the Russians, the biggest loss is for the civlians who had to flee the city. For Russian soldiers it's of course 100 times easiert with a river in front of them instead of their back.
