@hornstein12 Scared? This is simlpy smart. Russia has a focus on keeping losses low and those of the enemies hight, what is... pretty standard, if you are not insane or whatever.
Overall: warfare is not about territory. Territory CAN have strategical or tactical importance, but if not, it's more somethign you want to avoid.
Russia went out of Kharkiv because there was no reason for them to hold that area and with falling back they massively shortened their frontline - which overall is already absurdly long, so you want to shorten it whenever possible.
An Kherson was about the dam, the Nazis try tro destroy since monthes - and well, now did. If they would have stayed there and not have evacuated the majority of citizens, this would have been an even bigger disaster, especially for the civilians, even more when you look at how Bandersits with SS insignias commited warcrimes against people who were sadly dumb enough to stay, while not being on the "good" side of the Banderites.
