Botting and RMT is not P2W. P2W is when the company itself focusses the game on making money by making it hard up to impossible to get better without spending money.
Per se botting or RMT CAN go in this direction IF the game is P2W - that's why P2W games are much more intolerant against bots and hacks, because it ruins their money machine.
Yes, you can bot in WoW and every other game, but overall: this won't make you the most powerful player. Same for RMT or token. You can buy some items, sure, but overall, you can only get items which other, better players than you already have, since you get them from those players.
If you could buy these item directly from Blizzard and so on, yes, than you could call it P2W. If you just give them 1000$ and get a whole Mythic Gear set = P2W. If you pay players 1000$ to gear you full mythic, that's not P2W. That's simply not what the term is about. You take all meaning out of it, when you treat it like that.

@Exilis01 FF14? The game the literally copypaste other FF games for its story in the worst way possible? That is a theme park MMO, where they just put bosses from other FF and Square games in, without care to make it fit? The game that cuts gameplay content more every expansion instead of fixing the problems? The game that has 10% of the servers WoW is running with a big focus on housing, while - thanks to not getting enough servers - not able to give houses to all players, then abuse that to force people to stay subbed, because they delete your hose and take your housing plot away if you don't log in every 40 days at least?
Oh, and the game that just makes you the only important character in the whole story line, who just punches everthing to death, even planet eating bird brains, while you are not allowed to say anything, think anything, decided anything, have any kind of free will or interest or the ability to do something wrong.
The game in which a story line like Legion would look like that:
Sargeras: "I must kill the Chosen Warrior! He's getting too powerful! I must kill him, yes. Time to kill him. For sure."
~later, after Sargeras never even tried to actually kill the player character~
Sargeras:"Ha! Now I gonna kill you with my incredible power, you got no chance! Fight me, while I stand there and let you stab me."
~Player defeats Sargeras without any plan or help in a duell for no reason, because Sargaras just stands there and throws stuff at you like an angry housewife, what you can easily dodge~
Sargeras: "Oh no, I was beaten - please remember, that Titans (the game told you knothing about, but who cares - oh, have been by the way one of them, but you don't care, why shoudl you, eh?) are awesone - and while I obviously die now for sure, I will help you later against something you know even less about, but its behind everything, while doing nothing, just as me, you gonna love it - especially becaue you will be able to easily punch it to death, just like me, without any plan or reason." ~dies , but not - or maybe does, no one cares, especially not the writers~

@minuette1752 If you like smartphone games, sure. The combat in FF14 was so ruined by their streamlining and they simpyl stopped to try anything new, it's 99% copy/paste. So took aggro out, a heal challenge does not exist at all as doesn't mana management, TP was taken out, must buffs and debuffs were canceled or massively reduced , just as many other aspects.
Square started to simply milk the game since SB and even worse in ShB. On FF14 forum, people are super unhappy with the current patch and it's just a usual patch, well, as they are since ShB.
It's not even a surprise. It's absolute typical behaviour for Square and Yoshi P isn't any better, I stopped counting the lies of this guy...

@Knlght0fZero Child, those unbeatable bosses are not compareable to what mythic raids are today. That was about item level, the size of groups, sometimes bugs and so on (FF14 had that problem, too, by the way and that with being able to learn from years of experience of other MMORPGs).
The challenge off FF14 is, that you got no addons, so you have to learn the dance pattern from a chaotic spam of super scripted attacks.
It's LIFE-DIE-REPEAT as a boss fight. Your group dies to stuff to get where the right position is to stay in, note that, then die to the next attack, note it, and so on until you got the "A-B-C" dance pattern plan for this boss to follow.
It's actually ultra boring and more a question if you are willing to waste your brrain cells on this, than an actual challenge.
Also not forget that Savage and Ultimate are only 8 ppl. Guess what how brutal it would be with 20 - or 40.
But: Savage and Ultimate isn't casual. The problem is: the whole rest of the game is. You got no way up there. And savage is 12 boss fights per addon while Ultimate one boss fight per year IF you are very lucky.
So, not really a reason for gamers to stay with such lack of content, even more because savage isn't something they will take long with.

The main char is artificial himself, though.
But overall: can likely be, that we go in that direction. A big part of the humam body is pretty much a machine, that carries our brain around and is neede for movement, taking up energy via food and breathing and some parts to maybe make another human before we die.
So the idea, that we at some point replace all those extra parts with something artificial isn't far fetched, maybe even manage one day to transfer our mind completely away, who knows. Afterall: from what we see as science, we come from nothing over atom to bacteria and then somehow in billions of years reached that point where we look like this now. No reason to think, that this is the end, even more when we manage to hack the system and fool around with it.
Then you can be whatever you want and create your body like that AI art. Who knows.

It's almost funny to see how the game is cut down more and more ever year, the story and characters becoming a farce, but the fanatics just cheer even more.
What is this new expansion for example? After the ridiculous finish in Endwalker, where Scions and WoL just run in as usual (knowing about their plot armor and by that no need to have any kind of plan or even idea what to do) and defeat a planets consuming entitity with ease, so the typical anime bullshit, when a bunch of pretty much kids defeat armies and supermonster with their Mary Sueness, they now sell the anime filler episode at the beach as an addon, because that makes sense, the player character being what he is: an invincible murder hobo who just punches any threat to death without effort.
Even those endless copy/paste iseakai mangas/animes with "I was reborn an all powerful god" make more sense - and at least got a protagonist with a voice and own will, in contrary to FF14, where hit allmighty being is still just a tool with neither a free decision to make nor any free will or even just interests (not even in his own past).

@kevinc8955 There is no discussion about that, we are the same race. There are ethnics, but that's not the same and overall there is as MASSIVE mixture between them anyway.
There WAS the idea, that there are several human races, but that was mere theory than proven science, the evidence, coming up with the possibilities of genetical researc, made clear, that we are one race and that out difference like skin color or eye form and alike plays no role in that. Appearance doesn't mean much on that level, it's overall the painting of the house, not the house itself.
People should inform themselves more about such topics, it's actually quite interestings, same for sexuality, which is by far not that easy as most people who aren't really informed about it, think.
As a man for example you got all the genetical information of a woman in your DNA and a little 'error' is enough and you would be just that, even with that Y chromosome. And while it's not often the case, we still speak about many million people world wide with such problems, being genetically male, but from the outside you wouldn't know that.

Kimi Timoskainen Problem is, that the races in FF14 are super bland.
For absolute no reason at all they give you three starting regions, what in the end does not have any meaning and none of them has anything to do with your race.
Elezen are just tall humans with long necks and pointy ears.
Lalafell are just ugly and evil baby humans (and even walk like one).
Miquote are 100% anime catgirl fetish.
Viera are 100% playboy bunny race (and just badly stolen from FF12, where they had at least an interesting background that fit into the world and added important depth beyond their playboybunny appearance)
Au Ra are either cute humans with a scaly tale and some ornaments when female or tall emo lord when male.
Roe are big, stumpy humans.
Hrothgar are the only different, but the design isn't well done and only half a race for no reason, even though the developers promised to never do that shit again. Like Viera they still can't wear hats after years (while some modders easily did that).
Like the game in general, the background of these races are all very superficial and in general the whole story of FF14 doesn't work at all with MORPG, because you play the super duper special extra Mary Sueish chosen one. That's the story. For someone who is actually into RP, FF14 is one of the worst games, because you have to ignore the story and what your character is forced to be in it, since it simply does not work.
In WoW, you can easily be part of the story and still just see yourself as a random part of the army - even a civil one. Sure, as far as I see you got some stuff like creating that specail weapon which is later important against the main villain or when you are a commander, but in comparison to "you are the sole being able to stop the destruction of the planet and universe, by punching stupid things to death" (and yes, that's literally it I don't exaggerate it) that's pretty small.

Stormblood main plot was terrible. Overall the whole idea to bring in a high tech empire that would have to constantly rofl stomp you, then just letting it do nothing and even start a war against it, that goes like fighting some bandits, it's just dumb.
One of the big problems of whole FF14 is, that it is writetn like a very, very shallow and cheap powerfantasy, only driven by plot armor. Even worse: The PC is the absolute center of the whole story, but got no voice, no mind, no will, no interests. So it's a powerfantasy written around a dressed up rock.
When it starts to whitewash war, warcrimes and genocide, the story was not acceptable anymore at all, being shit AND disgusting.

@gahno76 The facts that WoW GOT challenging dungeons and a whole bunch of different difficulty levels of the same raid alone massively helps to create a bigger pool of gamers you can build on.
FF14 dunegons are ALL normal dungeons, not even hardmode, just normal, you run through, learn nothing.
24 ppl raid is faceroll and bad players just get carried through.
Not possible in savage anymore, but what's the way up there?
Problem is: Square is far too greedy and lazy to improve on that, they only cut away content and increase the cash shop.
Us old players had told them since years, but Square gives a fuck. Was the biggest joke ever, when those streamers in the PR campaign said, the devs of FF14 listen. NEVER. DID. - NEVER. It's the complete opposite. They give a fuck, especially on everything outside Japan.

It's fine, when you like shallow Mary Sue stories, I guess and are fine when your side is always good, even for planetar genocide, what of course also means, that there is ZERO depth, the good guys are braindead, who just walk in and win by plot armor without even trying to have a plan, why should they and the bad guys have to be even worse than that, means, they simply do almost nothing and what they do is retarded.
It COULD have been otherwise, but as said: Square is lazy and greedy.
Sad enogh this not only ruins the story, but also the gameplay, since their way to balance and fix things is to cut off - and they still got only small fraction of the servers for example WoW got, in a game that focusses hard on player and guild housing with a FIX numbers of housing plots per server and WAAAAAY too many for that, while also detroying your player or guild house after not subscribinng for a month and stealing your plot = they literally force you to stay subbed or they take away a giant mass of the playtime you invested.
Imagine the outcry, if any other game would do that, for example WoW deleting all your glamour or mounts and you would have to get them again (plus likely even can't, since thanks to by far not enough housing spots, the chance that you get one when going into the game is more than small).

@Kul-tegin Every bigger group is multicultural. Even small countries like germany which are a fart on the map with only 80 million people got hundreds of different cultures going on.
And what some nationalist call "leading culture" does neither exist nor has it anything to do with germany, because most stuff they see as typical german isn't german at all, but came from Asia of Africa or from foreigners who went to germany and invented that stuff there.
USA is an even bigger joke, since more US americans came from Europe, Africa or Asia. There aren't much actual natives left to begin with and most stuff you got got nothing to do with northern america.
Hell, it's funny when peope come up with your imperial system, with miles or Fahrenheit, yelling "USA! USA!" - Imperial system comes from Rome, Europe and Fahrenheit was a german scientist who just made this up pretty arbitrary with the goal to avoid negative numbers (wha obviously doesn't work).
But ignoring this: USA doesn't have one culture at all, but again hundreds of different ones.
The only way to not have multiculti would be to fascism and just forbid people to think and live differently than others, to uniform them by force.

@Jxyyyyyyyyyyf Majoriy of people give so much of a fuck about FF14, that they don't want to waste their time with the fanatic fanbase that brutally attacks any criticism.
You for example just shit talk, you go not clue or deny the problems, you just personally attack, the typical cultist behaviour.
FF14 gameplay was brutally cut down over time, the jobs more and more streamlined, the content cut partly by up to 50%, most of the content that stayed was copy/paste or a bad replacement of old content.
Problem are not fixed, but abused, like the whole housing thing (they now added a lottery to it, to make it even more shit and of course you still have to pay them money to keep your house, even if there is nothing to do in game for monthes). The game needed WAY more servers since start (EU got 5%(!) and USA 10% of the servers of WoW plus no instancing, what led to many follow up problems and this since 2015), but Square is simply too greedy. All kind of bonus items the game got at start started to vanish and instead the cash shop grew and grew, just as the prices.
The story became utter shit, a pure power fantasy badly copy/paste from other FF games and pretty much just raped into the form of this solely plot armor driven crap, that whitewashes warcrimes and massive genocide and hell-like torture in a disgusting way, reducing it to a black/white story with the warcrimes and genocide and torture on the WHITE(!) side.
And so on.
Even if you got no problem with all this, the idea that it got BETTER is ridiculous.

And that's indeed it. This his not questioned at all. You just win, because it's fiction and a game and you have to win, else the game would end, there is no other reason. You never got an actual plan, you never got any idea what's going on, even the big finish is just: let's fly there and plot armor that thing to death as usual.

@Roric_The_Red Yeah... It's always ridiculous when peopole praise the story and lore of FF14. What lore? There is zero to nothing and most of the story is badly copy/pasted from other FF games without even carting to integrate it well.
The whole Garlean Empire thing for example including Cid is just 99% copy/paste from FF12. Problem is, while FF12 makes a good message out of it, that war isn't heroic and just means suffering, especially for the weak, FF14 celebrates war and in the most disgusting, manipulative way. Instead of a story with depth, you get "yeah, you punch everything to death, because you are the chosen one, Harry".
And the giant Empire, the size of a continent, just does shit all these years and falls apart, ruined by a stupid cartoon villains (they kill it, not even you, off screen) and a guy who gives a fuck about everything beside wanting to fight you, then never actually pushing to fight you...

The decline of player skill was something you could feel as old FFXIV player.
The reason was how Square ruined the game year after year.
All the people who had started to play this FF MMORPG because they like MMORPGs and FF left, annoyed to death by Square's laziness and greed, cutting away on the game instead of improving it. Instead they focused on marketing, just replace these by luring in new ones, those are better anyway, because they haven't bought all the stuff from teh cash shop yet, where they also sell all the items you could get IG before. And the new guys stil think that all the content from 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 is somehow new, while for the old player you actually need to work and give them some new stuff to do, since they have done all that already 1000 times.
This is also linked to the decline:
See: when Crystal Tower came out, you couldn't just face roll it. Fights took at least 2 times as long if not longer, you couldn't just ignore all the mechanics, this would simply wipe you. It wasn't super duper hard, just hard enough that you halfway needed to know how to play.
Some fro the first hard mode dungeons. Especially in Europe with up to 2000+ ping, because Square was too greedy to buy servers the first two years, those and even hard mode Titan were quite the challenge.
Today, you just steam roll it, get carried, just do it single.
With their laziness they redid the Extrem Trials from 2013/2014 - what was only the increase of the numbers to fit the equipment of the current addon. No other change. It was still easier with that thanks to the additional skills and overall stronger classes, but was a gigantic mess to do with people and absolutel not worth for the awful rewards.
Why? Since nothing in the game teached the people ever how to play and the focus of Square to even reward passive aggessive behaviour what lead to the running gag " you don't pay my sub" ("so I can play as shit as I want and don't improve, if you don't ilke that, I will tell the GMs and they will punish your for that, hahaha") and that was BEFORE Square started to actively replace the leaving old players with Asmon fanboys and alike, with their streamer action.
FF14 became more an eRPG lobby since then, a bigger focus to be a chat lobby for "weirdos" who want to run or visit brothels in their game, than peopel who want to play an MMORPG. And of course, afterall, when you want to play an MMORPG, FF14 isn't giving you much.
Sure, when you are new you got that mountain of old stuff lying around, but even that mountain will be climbed and you gonna reach the actual endgame which is... just stale. Here and there you get a raid, but while the game got quite the population still, even though ~75% left since the streamer PR campaign, the majority of these are just awful, because who stays there? Not the people who want to raid and those who do stay, they don't go with randoms in that scenario.
This reaching a point where even streams like Zepla got a problem... well, it shows the decline and exactly the reason why the FF and MMORPG enjoyers left: Square sucks and ruins the game.

A suprising amount of especially modern stories can be summarized with: protagonist got plot armor and all the antagonists are absolute idiots.
Funny enough: Blizzard writers care way more to give the story meaning than most Blockbuster movies, bestseller books and story games and that while being FORCED that the players MUST win in the end, because it's an MMORPG that must go on. But it's not like you ever got an absolute bullshit story, where all the bad guys are just are just retarded and you are simply invincible.
They always present a reason.
Fight against Zovaal for example:
From what I've seen you got
a) the support of the other death gods.
b) the forces of Alliance an Horde.
c) powerful leaders of both
d) A magical artifacts crafted with the a lot of effort and power from the realm of death
e) Azeroth herself
to beat him.
And of course in the end you can always say, that actually the powerful leaders and so on would do the main work - but it's still a game and just having them do all the work would be a bit boring.
People praise FF14 for the story.
You know how that story in FF14 would look like? You and some guys WAY below your power level just rush in without plan and punch him and only him to death, because you are just so ultra and everyone else sucks. That's the story. There is no build up, there is no plan, often enough not even the antagonist got any plan and if, then you simply don't care, because why should you? You are invinicible and seem to know this.
I don't even exaggerate, that's literally it. And people cheer for that, while they crap on WoW. It's fascinating. FF14 isn't giving 10% of the effort into world, story and character than WoW does (and I mainly played FF14 - long time hoping, that it woulnd't turn into that giant nothing).

It's funny how people spit at that, while in comparison to all the other money leeching smartphone games out there, D:I is still very decent and yo can play it for free just fine.

The game is P2W in absolute every regard. In ever single even you can and partly MUST spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars if you want to rank top and it's a new event ever few days. All the rewards also add up, they got passiv bonus you get by just owning it. On top of that it got a VIP section with even more passive and daily rewards, going up to 30k dollars, plus special heroes you can only get there. If you want to max out heroes, you are again already in several hundred dollars territory, just for one hero, which will be replaced later by another even more powerful hero. These heroes also got special bonus skills, you again have to spend hundreds of dollars to max out, just for that one hero and so on and so on and so on.
And that's just one of endless example how real greed looks like.
Yes, you can waste absurd amounts of money in Diablo Immortal - but for what? You don't need to at all. More annoying is the grinding for gear and the RNG, but, well, Diablo fans seem to like just that, no? The endless grind for better gear.

Uh, no. And FF14 trailer are a joke, they got ZERO to do with the game itself, just advertisement
Paladins are tank only in FF14, because they got no class system and sucked for years because their damage, especially AoE damage was shit. It got a little bit better, but that in a time where they streamlined all classes even further and canceled every single system for choices.
Story of Paladin in FF14 also sucks. You are literally just a palace guard from a single town, there isn't even an explanation for any of your skills after you start as arena fighter. You get some bodyguard skills per se - then later suddenly swap to light magic stuff, just like White Mage, while they canceled the job quests, so you just got that shit withotu any backrgound, pulled out of your ass.
While WoW doesn't use class quests, all those classes got a massive background and you can play Paladin as all speccs, Healer, Tank, DD. In FF14 when you play Paladiny, you tank, that's it.

WoW story that includes these things is much older than FF14 - which overall did nothing with all that, since all of that was just lie and what remained was a whitewashed Super Hitler who slaughtered whole planet for now reason at all and you are forced to just accept that and cheer for it. The whole hear, feel, think never led anywhere and is especially ironic, because while in FF14 your character is the center of everything, you got zero free will, zero character, zero interests, you just do what others tell you without questioning it.
While WoW also doen't give you choices, that gives you the freedom to give your character its own place in it. FF14 forces you to be that super special Mary Sue, but you can stil do shit, not even talk.
Simply not compareable.
By the way: while it is more than clear that the WoW story is planed ahead for many years, FF14 developers said themselves, that they made up stuff as they like and avoid world building, so they can make things fit as they please. And of course this is obvious. Garlemald for example exists since start, but was never given much info in all these year and even just mainly canceled off screen to avoid putting any work into it.

@duerf5826 Music is okay. It often does not fit at all to the atmosphere, what is bad. It's like watching Lord of the Rings but with heavy metal - or pop music - what of course got a massive up to destructive impact on the scenario.
When you got a fight for survival, but instead you get some easy jam, well, it does not feel like a fight for survival anymore.
What high points of the story? Even the better parts in HW are very standard. Ascians are a total waste, nothing they do makes any sense ever, especially when you know the end of it. The three main guys: one is an absolute cartoon villain, the other one is just completely ignored, while partly all over the place from muahahaahh cartoon villan to "let me explain" to now I'm an idiotk, so you can kill me to and now I'm the good guy - what does not fit together and in the end he just gets stomped like any other creep. And the last one got one retareded plan after the other and dies like an idiot in the end, while his actual backgruond creates a plot hole bigger than the whole story, what is simply thrown away.
Garlemald? Complete desasters. Whole Garlemald is like the character Zenos, even worse, it just randomly pops up just to be defeated, while an 'evil empire' with such power and high tech would just obliterate you every single time. Overall the game never shows, that it is evil and the empire part - your own side are just despots, criminals and terrible people who suck so much that they can't even bring together their small towns.
There was never a given reason to be against Gaius. That guy wanted to a) Unite Eorza to create an actual country that can feed and help its people, not like the terrible mess those city 'states' are and end the primal threat. Hooray - I mean, game pretty much over.
Intead everything you do in the game is absolute horrible and just brings more death and pain and suffering. A whole continent is burning down and per se the whole planet and that all for your being the willing slave of a moinster that genocided a whole planet plus torturing all murdered souls on it for all eternity.
When you look at WoW, people get mad at someone like Sylvanas, who had done MUCH less for actual reasons, and still being called a monster for it, while in FF14 Ultra Hitler herself, who just slaughtered all life, because she saw it as subhumans is whitewashed the whole time, just like the endless raw of war crimes you commit.
It's just disgusting. It's a disgusting story. It's also badly written, because you more and more only win by plot armor, the antagonists get worse every time, just being dumb, doing shit. The world building is a catastrophee, when even something like Garlemald is just completely ignored and then destroyed offscreen, so the don't have to ever create anything for it, after being around since the very first start of the failure that was FF14 1.0.
Square ruined the game with their laziness and greed. It could have become more. Intead they just milked it and abused streamer to lure in newbies with PR lies - what of course already died down again.

FF14 went brutally downhills since SB, especally regarding content. Story does even matter that much, since you got close to no story (the game forces you through it, so it's a mess when you start new, but actual story content is very little and be done in the fraction of a single day when it comes to content patches, make it a day when it comes to a new addon.
So even the story sucking so hard with stupid characters and everything driven by the dumb, mute main char just being invincible for no reason and the antagonists just doing shit to ever reach their partly just obscure goals (and if not obscure, they are actually good goals, but they still do nothing to reach them and simply fail against the blindly mass murdering, brainless protagonist), isn't really the problem.
Content cut meanwhile is a problem, nothing new ever tried even more.Even Eureka and Bozja is mainly mob and fate grind again. Fates were also never improved, the same shit since start, the scaling sucks, the fate xp systm still bugged after all these years, that one person could be 100% active the whole time and still only get bronze = only 10% of the reward, while in a group everyone just needs to make one attack and you get gold.
Dungeons wer cut in half and became more and more boring. When it comes to raids, you either do the 8ppl raid or the 24ppl raid, there is not really any need to do both, because 24ppl raid always comes 4 monthes late and drops subpar equip in comparison to savage. So either you do savage and get your BiS, means the 24ppl raid will not have anything of worth for you or you don't do savage, means you have nothing to raid for four months - beside both not really a big thing anyway.
ShB did not even have Hildibrandt as side content, beast tribes and crafting weeklies are also always the same shit, the re-use of old ex trials was just a steaming pile of bored copy/paste shit, they really just adjusted the numbers to fit level 80, that's it (what you could have done the whole time anyway, by simply playing it synched and min item level).
And so on and so on and so on.
Housing system still sucks brutally, by far not enough plots for all people, not even half of it and now they managed to make it even worse with a fucking lottery system, it's ridiculous. all because Square is too greedy to get enough servers and no, they are too greedy for that since YEARS.

I played the game since start, what the streamers - who suddenly got in after eight years, when FF14 was ruined more and more by Square's typical milking - praise, was absolute outdated shit, we did not want to see anymore, because we were 'forced' to play it for YEARS.
It's like someone starting WoW and running aound praising stuff from old expansions as if it is all current content. It isn't. At all.
The actual content of FF14 became more and more shit since years. Not only the same formula over and over again, they even cut away good parts with zero replacement and cut content in general, massively.
Then they abused their shit server/housing situation, to force you stay subbed or lose your house and everything inside forever.
See: Square is so greedy, the game got 5% of the EU and 10% of the US servers that WoW got. And that's just the direct number, WoW even got instancing on top of that.
Square never cared to at least double that ridiculous small numbers of servers all these years, they just abused it to say, they can do shit and can't fix things.
Now they maybe will buy some servers (wouldn't be surprised if they cancel this, seeing how their PR tricks went to dust already), but even that takes felt ages again and is not even the bare minimum of what would be needed.
Even WoW classic(!) got more servers than FF14 in general.

They, don't becasue they are an extremely lazy AAA developer who milk a franchise that is now hypeed by the parrots for what reason ever.
The fact alone that they just cut 40% of the normal gameplay with the excuse "it's so hard to balance it", while EVERY SINGLE OTHER D&D stor RPG developer manages it just fine, is ridiculous. Many D&D videogames go even beyond that, add mythic/epic levels, additional systema and what not, so the opposite of pretty much cutting it in half.
Hell, would be funny if for example Blizzard did that, maybe even trolling and telling that they will now do what BG3 did and so the whole upper 40% of gameplay with all levels and skills will be canceled, because "it's too much work to balance it" as excuse. They could also add, that people should "get the full experiene from the start" - means, you only get the game you buy and they will stop creating content for it afterwards, well, because that's what you people want, right? You don't want free bonus content, because that means, that you didn't get the "full experience". That's what you are saying.
By the way: what you praise as fantastic is simply just standard for story RPGs. Since they are a one time experience if you don't just replay them, they of course don't have all the elements of multiplayer game which keep running and don't just end with the story line, so new content now and then is a nice extra.
You are comparing swimming with car racing and cheer for swimming because it got so much water involved, in contrary to the greed car racers who have no water at all! How absurd.

If you got any clue of gamd design you knowk, that the small line between "too hard" and "to easy" varies MASSIVELY between players.
That's why you got difficulty settings in games - or in regard of an MMORPG something like LFG, normal, heroic, mythic.
If you got no fun in mythic, do heroic, if you think heroic is still too hard, to normal, if you are really not good enough for normal, well, do LFG and if you think LFG is still to hard, maybe think about if you shouldn't play some smartphone game or so?

If you want to see how an evil storyline is written well, play Wrath of th Righteous. You can become a Lich, a Demon, a Devil or - what even those three before fear and see as insane, a Swarm, that just consumes everything, yes, also your own army, companions, civilians, queens - and yourself. Nothing is save.
That's a stupid fart in comparison and doesn't make sense anyway.

FF14 is like you take all th NPC protagonists of WoW from both sides, mash all this together into the player character, then delete all free will, personality and motivation from that monstrocities, then throw antagonists and them and them alone who are all without any chance and overall mainly brainless, never doing anything of worth and even if they try, it's just ignored.
When you take the plot of Legion for example, what overall is pretty much the story of FF14, someone who destroyed planets also wants to destroy all life in general, then Sargeras would SOLELY be focussed on you, the player character, who would be the only important character to save or not save life, Sargeras would talk about killing you, but never even try the whole time, while the player character wouldn't care who Sargeras even is, who he is himself, how to figh Sargeras, prepare for it by any means, just go in and punch him to death.
That's literally how FF14 tells the story. They never care to generate any kind of struggle or build up. You are invincible. And everyone around you, too. And that while being the focus of all the attention - while fighting against some bandits is the same as fighting an Empire or planet eating gods (and that even in the story itself).
One big antagonists is a continent sized empire, bigger than the USA and techologically more advanced, while the player character is on the side of three towns, which don't even have know what a radiator is. The empire got hypersonic aircrafs, not just missiles, but flying castles, which got cannons with the destructive power of mini nukes, while the best the player side got are sword and arrows and low level magic (what isn't even an argument bacause while the leading empire race is bad at magic, they got hundredthousands of other race soldiers, who are just as fine with magic a you are - and they got univisities and alike to educate their people).
Guess who easily wins the whole war without a single town even being attacked and without ever having any kind of plan beside: let's storm in and beat them.
The one plan we see in all the war is: let's destroy the wall of that occupied city part of that castle we want to storm and flood the whole civil sector. Killing a hell lot of civilians should make it easier for us to storm the castle. - What is by the way seen as heroic and completel fine with no aftermath at all.
If the FF14 player character would do what Sylvanas did, everyone would cheer for him. And hell, the 'goddess' the player character blindly follows, even though she does shit for him all the time and lied 100%, is actually Ultra Hitler who genocided a whole planet, then took all the souls of the slaughter people, ripped tham apart and tortured them for 10000 years. What NEVER plays any role in the game, it's just fine to do that.
Sylvanas is an angle of mercy and kindess in comparison to that fuck, but, yeah, nothing shit writing can't just ignore and whitewash.

@Zantetsudex FF14 robs and rapes of other FF and Square games. There is close to nothing they came up with themselves and they do this on purpose to give that "oh, look, I've seen that in another FF game" feeling, while not even caring to a) make it fit and b) try to use the possibility of an MMORPG to build up somethign to hold it together and c) at least not distort it to something worse than the original.
Main back bone of FF14 setting for example is delivered by FF12: big high tech Empire as a potential threat next to you, while your side are more some pesants (even the FF14 kingdowm, while far too weak, had at least quite some magical power on their side). Problem is, while FF12 makes a strong point, how devastating a war would be, especially for the weak people, FF14 just goes full braindead anime: yeah, that's a high tech empire that could just obliteate you in an hour, but you got plot armor, lol, so this won't happen. And it's literally just that. There is never any explanation. You got ZERO chance to win, you got ZERO plan how to reach anything, you just win, because the writers want you to win, so the antagonsits do nothign and you just run in, punch some people to death, victory.
And that's the level of FF14 story in general. Without exaggeration. That's literally it.

The gnome hellknight from Pathfinder 2 was a well written evil character. Clearly brutal in his methods and quick with a death sentence, but still very reasonable at that.
That "hurrdurr, I'm a crazy cartoon person, ruining stuff for the lols" thing is just cheesy and bad.
Yeah, I get it that a lot of aggro kiddies and crazies love to do that in their games, but if you actually write that as story content, that's just lazy, because such psychpaths are absolute low level writing.
Pathfinder 2 also got such a character, the "I just love to cut open people" lady. Absolute boring character. At least the other evil woman is driven by the idea of the strong rule over the weak, what especially coming from her position of hard survival makes some sense.
And of course it also got the usual "hurrdurr, me evil, me just randomy destroy something/kill someone" options. But as said: this is old and jsut becomes more boring.

That was fine for Lenine, because it was step toward socialism and from that you COULD reach communism, what is more a developement of society than a political or economical system (regarding communism, the political system would be pretty much - a 100% - democracy and the economical would be socialism).
Of course SU never even got the chance to go further. Such systems are not really good at war and fighting inner and outer chaos, where you need force and control to not get crushed, so clearly not a system in which super democracty systems could thrive.
When modern 'democracies' (you could argue about that, but let's just accept it) go to war (and I mean war in which they themselves are threatend, not what the USA loves to do, bombing helpless countries on the other side of the planet), they quickly abolish a lot of freedom, elections and so on for that time of war. It's the same reason: they need the control and democracy is too slow and soft for that.
Look at 9/11. That was a single attack and what impact it had. Imagine it wouldn't be one but hundreds.

You got enough story when you do Arthas -> Lich King in one movie. And then another with his fall - what should include his fate when he was condemned by his teacher he had murdered - and end as a weapon himself.
Should not even go to the point in which the last bit of his soul fades, because at this point he's alread gone anyway, as it was said, it's just a last fragment and flicker of his spiriti, not himself and it's the story of other peopel, even though interlinked, but the way there would too complex to just squeeze in.
For Arthas his story ends when he is grabbed by his former teacher, now an angel of death and just thrown in (hateful?) revenge into hell, where he is tortured to death and forged into a blade. That would work well as movie, because you would have those two blades. One which started his story and downfall - and one that makes his end.
Even for people who don't know the whole background it would be obvious enough, especially since you would need Nerzhul somewhere in the first part and should show how he was also forged into a weapon.
You could add Zovaal to it when Kingsmourne is forged, that he won't make the mistake his minions did, by letting any own will alive in the blade...
It's the best Arthas can hope for after all he had done, to be seen as a victim, too , beside being an HItler of the Undead.

The difference is, that this ia reset of the system. By that it does not NEED a borrowed power stuff, since it will just be the new base.
In 11.0 theyy might just build up on that, but in the end, it will either go back to a needed reset like this, building the whole base anew - or get back to borrowed powers, to not make it horrible, especially for new or coming back players, forcing them through all the old stuff.
Again: what people don't get: if they would just keep all the power, ist would not change ANYTHING, because the NPC would just also get stronger to compensate for that. You simply would NEED to have ALL powers, also the old ones, even for your alts and so on or when coming back. You would have this giant pile of stuff to collect, HAVE to collect and it would also become more and more of a mess, because it would interact with each other.
Borrowed powers simply kept that clean and save while still giving you something to advance in every expansion.
10.0 will no have it, because you get a complete revamp. It's pretty much the same thing you just abolish more than only the borrowed powers, you also abolish the old system and just make everything new instead of only the borrowed power system.

Many stories are jus stupid to think, that evil people have to be alone, have no friends and don't care for them or their family. Especially evil people would easily kill for their friends and family. If you are good or evil is about how you behave to strangers, to people you don't know or don't like.
This aside: the whole point tha makes Overlord special is that he's a, well, Overlord. His character is a tyrant an overly powerful despot. It's his own, humand mind, that keeps him at bay at start, including his missing knowledge after being isekaid, what's actually going on.
He's isn't really the hero, though, but people dislike to be the bad guy or be on the side of the bad guy, this includes evil people, who rarely will see and sell themselves as the evil guys and lie to themselves and others about it as much as they can.
If they do this, they will get very pissed and angry, if this is challenged by someone and in case of a manga, that could be the author him- or herself.

Most money WILL come from those 99% by simlpy buying battle pass for example or some small stuff.
The peopel who pumps thounds of dollar in aren't even 1%, but way less than 0,1%.
It's a F2P game, F2P games tend to have dozens of million player.
Let's take just a million as example. If have of them is buying a battle pass (and since it's cheap, it will likely be way more), that's already 2,5 million dollars and as said: as a F2P it will likely have way more than that.
1% of a million that would still be 10.000 people. Unlikely that you have so many people ina million who spend thousands of dollars. To give those 2,5 million dollars, those 10.000 would have to spend 250€ each.
Yes, of course you can pump insane amounts of money into it, but it's an extreme.
In the end, it's of course both, they don't negate each other. You got the people who earn money with shit like for example Asmongold, who in the end does notthing of worth, but is a millionair and who by that can do dumb shit like spending thousand of dollars for the lols, while his fans throw x time that much at him for that. But the majority does not pay at all or just does small stuff, but since the are the majority they create many, many millions, too, likely even more.
