In case of WoW it seems to be on hyper-meme level, that you have to say, that it sucks, that's just the standard. In case of FF14, you better keep your mouth shut if you got anything not good to say about the game, or the cultists will come for you with torches.

Because it exploits weak minded people. It's the same shit as gambling. Movies love to make it look fun, but overall gambling mostly make money by brutally explotioing addicted people and ruin their lives.

It got simply zero P2W. Even when you buy gold with cash from other gamers and then use that gold to buy those two BoE drops from raids from other gamers: 1. That's not what P2W is about, since you have to be able to spend cash to become better than anyone else, but since you need to buy the item from OTHER players, you are clearly not better than them. 2. The difference is a joke, you sped a lot of money for almost nothing, even paying so much farmed gold is pretty questionable.

@oreoyo5639 After they began to lose more and more player, because intead of developing the game further, they cut it more and more down, they had to go for the "hook people" tricks and made base game and first addon completely F2P (with some limits, regarding social stuff and max gold).
