@xinj6142 How? The story JKR wrote or better copy/pasted from others, is as basic as it can be. It's book for children with violence for adults, whitewashing all kind of disgusting behaviour and brutality as if it is nothing with the lame "chosen one beats stupid, cartoonishly evil bad guy by plot armor." Even the worst writers write plot on that level. HP was simply hyped. You can hype anything. If some influencer or mass media would hype eating shot tomorrow, people woul do that, too and there would be all kind of shit sandwhiches and shit cooking box and shit eating conventions and whatever. There are endless thousnds of better books out there than Harry Potter by far, but quality doesn't matter.
