Obviously WoW tells one big story. It can't focus at all things at once and since it is told via a game and all, this means that it takes time to tell it all. If the story is finished, WoW will be finished. It was always clear, that the Sword will play a role. Only idiots didn't get that.

You mean super Hitler, that killed the planet than lied to you and you had to accept that? Hell, Azeroth is way older than FF14, the whole story of WoW is. And I'm pretty sure you got zero clue of the FF14 story, too - which sucked. Massively.

WoW story that includes these things is much older than FF14 - which overall did nothing with all that, since all of that was just lie and what remained was a whitewashed Super Hitler who slaughtered whole planet for now reason at all and you are forced to just accept that and cheer for it. The whole hear, feel, think never led anywhere and is especially ironic, because while in FF14 your character is the center of everything, you got zero free will, zero character, zero interests, you just do what others tell you without questioning it. While WoW also doen't give you choices, that gives you the freedom to give your character its own place in it. FF14 forces you to be that super special Mary Sue, but you can stil do shit, not even talk. Simply not compareable. By the way: while it is more than clear that the WoW story is planed ahead for many years, FF14 developers said themselves, that they made up stuff as they like and avoid world building, so they can make things fit as they please. And of course this is obvious. Garlemald for example exists since start, but was never given much info in all these year and even just mainly canceled off screen to avoid putting any work into it.

@user-fj9gg5jx5z Nonsense. WoW has done such thing over and over again with such events and by the way with way more impact than FF14, who are far too lazy for that. Not even something like the great shodown in Endwalker changed anything.

@Billy_D Sargeras wanted to destroy life in general. And since he is an insane, corrupted Titan, it's for sure not sooo clear what exactly he wants. And no, it's also not clear what he targeted. The Old Gods for example hide inside the planet and so could other things.
