WoW = furry game does not really fit, because it does not sexualize these races. A game is not just "furry" because you can play a beastial race, just like you are not necrophil because playing an undead. Meanwhile the cat- and bunnygirls and even the 'dragonrace' in FF14 is clearly sexualized and looks to 100% like the fetish you find when you google for catgirl, bunnygirl and alike, though you could not even call it furry, because they are so much sexualized, that they don't even have fur or scales.

@yep You will for sure find people who like very chubby Pandas with big eyes, but overall that's likely a small niche. Meanwhile cat- and bunnygirls a la FF14 are such a cliche fetish, it's pretty much boring. If you search for catgirl you get tenthousands of results of the exact same catgirls you can play in FF14. The bunnygirls are pretty much playboy bunnies as a race. So these two alone cater to a wide demografic. Meanwhile how often do you see chubby pandas? A bit more maybe since Kung Fu panda, but I don't think that's because people would like to fuck Po (maybe in germany, because Po means 'butt' there).

@lunadead Again: Furry is about to be SEXUALLY ATTRACTED to it. And no, FF14 is not furry, because, as the word says, it's about "FUR". FF14 is simply the old "sex sells". That's why the love to use all the sexual cliche stuff like cat- and bunny girls and of course in the typical, sexual way. WoW got their typical ooc jokess out there for example with the dances taken fom RL or stuff like flirt emotes, but they don't sexualize the races like that. Again: it's the same with undead. Playing an undead does not make you a necrophil. And playing a beast class does not make you a furry. Same thing. Both are not furry or scaly or whatever. FF14, because you can only play humans with some bonus traits anyway. And WoW, because it got no focus on making (especially the beast) races sexy. FF14 loves their anime tropes, though, even in the story. FF14 is brutally anime - while mixing it with serious parts, what does not fit well at all. Anime meets war and genocide never worked out well, you end up with absolute sociopathic protagonists, who are the worst peopel you can imagine but the anime simply sells them as normal and just let them get through with it and win. Joke is, that WoW story telling is much deeper, TOO deep for the usual crybaby, because it acts a lot with "show, don't tell". A good example is that trailer, not one word from any of these watchers and they create massive feeling from and for this last survivor. In FF14 you got a hell lot of talk - without ever really explaining anything. It raises more questions than answers and then they just tell you: yeah, just accept that and ignore these abysmal plot holes and alike, okay? And then they force you to ignore it, because your character, while being the main char, is not your character - it's the puppet of someone else, the devs and other characters in the story, for no given reason. Typical shallow anime story and so it fits well that you got such cliche anime races on top of that, all pretty and sexy or cute.
