What you must admit by that list is, that WoW stays on it almost 100% of the time and that as a game that is not F2P or just one time pay, but you have to pay monthly to play. Of course when smartphone gaming came up and overall more casual gaming, this inflated the numbers a lot and also took time away from the old game style. To still be on that top 10 list and that constantly as an MMORPG is HARD.

There are simply FAAAAAAR more games these days and FAAAAR more player, especially casuals who just want to tap their screen a little and that's it. Working in the industry myself, I got a lot of friend who make smartphone games. They all say, that you get the most players with close to braindead 'games', the big majority loves that the most.

What death? Millions still play it and that as a game you have to pay monthly for. That's no death. If you take this as death, than 99% of the market is a graveyard. It's hard to take criticism against Blizzard and WOW seriously (and I'm saying this as on outsider, who never played it much), when people get so hyperbolic about it. And WoW became better. The main difference is YOU. You are not the person anymoree you were 10 years ago. That's nostalgica you speak of and if you would go back to that time, you would quickly realise, that you see it to pink glasses.

WoW is fine, you guys are just crybabies and drama queens. That numbers change got more to do with smartphone gaming and more games in general to play, you can't compare that with gaming 10-15 years ago.

@_jow Always a good laugh, when someone tries to look smart by crying "NO, YOU!" like a six year old child. Ohmy.

As somenone who liked many games of the FF franchise, it's annyonig to see how brutally Square ruined it with their greed. This includes FF14 they just used marketing tricks to push one more time by bringing in replacements for all the old players who left, instead of actually improving the game with that money (for example buying FUCKING SERVERS, what ia s problem since years, especially when it comes to housing and they could solved this problem easily with more servers, but as said: too greedy).
