  2. It's simple, you got three solutions: 1. You just add things up. Nothing is borrowed, everything is an increase, what then will lead to the absurdity of 100 x 100 x100 x100 x100 x100 x100 x100 x100 and so on and of course the enemies will just HAVE TO do the same, so overall you are simply FORCED to do EVERYTHING, else you will just suck. 2. You got borrowed powers. Means you will grow a bit stronger regarding level and item gear, the usual, and then on top of that you get something extra, what will later be replaced with something else, so you got the same as 1, but it will simply not add up, means the enemies also don't need to grow tha absurdly strong and you can get into each xpac and do the new thing, what overall give you the same experience, you simply don't have to do all the old stuff to compete. Yes, you DO lose your old stuff, when you have done it, but again: it would not change a thing anyway, since if you keep them, the enemies will also just get the same bonus, leaving you in the exact same situation. 3. You simply got nothing at all. You gear the bare minimum, level and itemlevel (maybe not even that), that's it. Nothing else. That you can do all of this 1, 2, 3 in better and worse ways, that's just a thing on its own.
