Always funny to read this, becauese peopel know shit about the FF14 dev team, especailyl all the people behind the marketing guys who try to push sales.
Yoshi P is a liar. He near to never reacts to anything, you see him a few times a year during those marketing events and he told so much shit on them and made up stuff, why they can't fix the game and instead of to continue to milk the players (of course not with this wording).
FF14 cuts content since SB, while the cash shop detonates. And that anyone believes the bullshit, that cash shop money goes into developement is just absolute naive. And Yoshi P - a producer = money guy - told it, because you think, you spend the money on improving the game. You don't. It didn't improve, it got worse since he said this.
If there woul even be a small sparkle of truth in his words, they would have increased the US and EU servers by 33% at least, minimum. But they didn't even do that. And gameplay just got cut, cut, cut.

@scroom1202 As written so often: I play this game since start, ARR since early access 2013.
Not enough servers, bad servers and shit engine was a problem since start.
It took them TWO years to get EU servers, while we had to play with 1000ms(!) ping and worse on top of the server delay.
USA also got more probs, just not as awful as EU.
When housing came, first the plots were to expensive for most. Was one of the first to get a mansion (only 10% of the plots are mansions). Meanwhile - since gil is worth nothing in the game and it just got easier and easier to get millions of it - and I mean since years, the money was not he problem anymore.
Even before their influencer campaign, US and EU servers (24, 12) got around 15k active players per server - but even with ShB there were only ~5k housing plots and those shards between guilds and and player chars.
So you got 10k player, who just can't get a house, even less a mansion (that's only ~500 per server).
Japan with 32 server - while having less population than USA, only got 10k active player per server. So only 5k players with that problem.
And as said: that was BEFORE the got the idea to lure in new players they can sell all the outdated shit to.
They lie.
They just don't want to get servers or at best a bare minimum and so they wait and see, if the problem does not just solve itself again, by player leaving.
I'm more than sure they don't think themselves, that most of those who were lured in by influencer will stay as as soon as they rushed through that pile of eight years in some months and see - whoops,, there is really not much to do in the game (thanks go Square just milking instead of improving it).
