They build this stuff themselves, in contrary to your regime, which is mainly ruined not by Russia but by NATO thanks to a gigantic mountain of debt for weapons, which only make west Ukraine and its people die much more. West Ukraine could have gotten out of that with ZERO damage (well, beyond what they lost in their disgusting civil war against the Donbass, but that's their own fault). Now it's very unlikely that anything will be left after this. Ukraine wasn't rich before all that. Now it will have lost the majority of its GDP while it debt multiplied by 5 and more. And the west is one of the worst being you should be in debt to.

The function of a tank is to ... tank = draw fire and force the enemy to act or move. It's the reason why it is so heavily armored. Else you could just drop the armor - and have an assault gun or (when you increase the firing range) an artillery. The offensive power of a tank is a joke in comparison to other system, starting with its terrible low firing range for a system of that size, weight and cost.

@karo2090 Careful: Canada is in the top 10 of countries with the most resource (other countries are by the way China, Iran and Venezuela - and of course Russia on place 1 with vast distance to second place USA - which mainly got coal and timber left, though). Sure somewhere, somewhen far away from any frontline, you may manage to find some guys from Donbass in an old tank with no backup and all. So you overall just risk you life for a completely pointless kill and will 99% likely die afterwards anyway without even the chanec to make any difference, just some lives wasted for nothing, because randomly killing lone people far away from the frontlines won't win you a war. At the frontlines, you won't have the chance to sneak up on a tank, since that tank got a layer after layer of backup and protection. Can you be lucky? Sure. Will you still die? For certain. And even that lucky part is borderline absurd with somtething like that a 2km firing range gun that has to stop to shoot.

They got hundreds of layered system which easily shoot down any helicopter and everything else that even gets close to the frontlines. Why do you think the Nazis neeed thos cruise missiles? To stay as far away as possible and even then they constantly lose those jets. The range of a helicopter even with missiles got no chance, the idea to land troops with them is insane. And Russia is using jets. They got gliding bombs with 60km range and use them constantly but beside this simply can use their ships and other missiles system, they don't need to send a plan into the air for missile strikes.

Reducing the weight of a firearm ist not a good idea, because that will increase the recoil and that's not really something you want. You WANT it to have a certain weight.

Well, he's simply right. NATO fascism and their proxy Nazis ruind west Ukrain and its whole future meanwhile. Russia is no fan of that at all. They wanted the Nazis to stop the genocide in Donbass, that's all. Instead now west Ukraine is even more ruined than the Donbass, which will be rebuild, but the damage int he west is done by fascism, corruption and endless debt. You can't repair that. You do get that this one 'ammunition depot' they showed was just fertilizer (and yes, fertilizer explodes brutally). The idea allone, that the Russian would just build giant ammunitiojn depots right at the frontline. Ukraine is shooting at civilian targets all the time, since the surveillance is absolutely awful and they don't care for civilians in East Ukraine, mass murdering them since years.

Stinger played close to no role in Afghanistan. Overall the SU went ouf of it because Gorbatchov wanted to end the whole Cold War insanity - that naive man. If you got the problem that the enemy is shooting at you outside, the same enemy will just attack the tank. Maybe in WW2 anti tank weapons were spare at least at western front, where UK, USA, France only fought meager, ill equipped rests, since over 80% of the german casualties were in the east against the soviets. But today were pretty much everything can destroy/disable a tank? And then you want to make tea in firing range? Hell, even unguided artillery would shred you for just standing there.

Poland is well known for a lot of aggression, hell, they even wanted to work with the Nazis to slaughter the Slavs, was just the germans not going along with that. @hayleyxyz Child, Ukraine got many hundreds of Russian tanks, many hundres sent by NATO alone. You see any of them? No, because Russi destroyed them. Majority of obliterated tanks are Ukrainian tanks, their own and from NATO countries. And none of the western tanks are any better. When you see them survive, that's just them being immobilized by a mere drone or mine, that's just normal. What you never saw of a single western tank is doing anything wortwhile before being stopped for good. Overall tanks lost most of their meaning. They got a small role left in combined arms warfare and they are doing that, though this role is mainly about be fired at - and making it back is a bonus at best.

Warsaw Pact was for defense against another try of our western fascists to pillage Russia. They would never be the attacker by the fact alone, that Europe got absolutely nothing worth to conquer. Bit absurd to compare HIMARS with a Grad. Russia got a lot of presicision systems. They obliterate whole NATO camps at the eastern border of Ukraine building by building from 100s of km away. Would make more sense to compare it to systems like the Iskander. Also Russian isn't using cluster ammunition at all. Ukraine is using it - since years. They also use anti personal mines, even US ones like the claymore, so the likely got those delivered by the USA in such numbers.

Those tanks are fodder, even more in the hands of people who got barely any miltiary experience, even less with them. The sole reason the HIMARS systems existed for a while longer than all the other crap was the range, which could be used by the Banderas Nazis to hide them somewhere, quickly drag them out, shoot blindly at a city like Donzek or a bridged and run away again. Can't do that with a tank with its ~5km firing range.

Else the germans would just have marched through and would have had it very easy to finish their Holocaust against Polish people. You know what the big problem of Laser is? To generat such amount of energy at that place. Dispersion is also a big problem, even more inrease by fog, dust, rain, smoke and so on. Or the horizon, limiting its range, since a laser will always go straight. It's also not just like some fany Hollywood pew pew laser, where every hit is enough, especially when it comes to harder targets beyond human skin, even more when it will have countermeassures installed, which will reflect some of the energy, increasing the power you need to destroy the target even more. And of course such system will be heavily impacted by every kind of small failure. Overall it's more fancy and expensive than anything else, maybe something for ships and other big systems as an addition, not a replacement. Not even talking about, how stupid war is in the first place, but I know, I know, western fascism needs to rob the world to keep its murderous and ever greedy capitalism running.

Oh Russia does simply not care to make advances. It's an offensive defense. You create a heavily fortified wall and then just attack from there. Even when you see in videos in the regions around the lines on the map, those are just scout unites.

More armor/layers is ALWAYS better, the question is if the downsides don't make it worth it. A big problem with just armor itself by mass is that mass = weight. Layered armor is in genral better, because energy will be much more dispersed, but of course it's not that easy to just add layer over layer. What you got here is simply a light extra layer, that - while not being strong enough to stop almost anything - is still something you have to overcome, you can't just pass through. So in general this means, that you have to release the energy of your warhead a lot earlier than you could with out that. And while this layer will not stop the enery, it absorb a bit and - what is more importat - furthe diesperses it. This all adds up to reduce the impact on the actual armot of the tank - it's plain physics.

Then it lost again when it started a civil war, divind the land, losing Crimea and Donbass forever - mainly by that civil war. Then it lost even more by not following Minsk 2 agreement and instead becoming a full NATO sacrifice... Regarding this conclict now: impossible to win for Ukraine in absolut any way. It's even worse: Russia went in to secure the Donbass and make sure it and Crimea would not be attacked any longer by westenr Ukraine. Could have accepted that and western Ukraine would be as fine as it can be after all that. Instead western Ukraine now got a good chance to cease to exist, not even by damage, not even by the hundredsthousands of lives lost and who knows how many millions even who might never come back, but those who remain now got a gigantic debt and that toward the worst people you can be in debt in: our 'free west'. After this, when you add up the debt and compare it what will be left of the GDP, we talk about 400-500% yearly GDP in debt, if not more. It's insane. And all because their crazy regime sold out the country and its people to NATO as cannonfodder...

I got an effective firing range of 2km. That's a freaking joke. That's not even half the firing range of a tank, not talking about all the other systems it has to survive with even more. Even infantery is a massive threat for that scrap pile.

@stormiewutzke4190 Only reason HIMARS is not destroyed within days like other systems is its firing range, so they can hide it 50km behind the frontline, drive out, quickly fire at Donezk city tryin to kill some civilians or a bridged (for which those rockets are not powerful enough - the new 150km range rockets even less...), then quickly drive away to hide again, mostly inside cities behind civilians. Still won't save them, but they survive a lot longer than crap like this with 2000m(!) firing range. Good luck...
