@tim_isoara6423 Warfare isn't about territory. Territory you take as you please AFTER the war. During the war, you don't go pointless area gains or defend pointless positions. Giving up territory to for example shorten your frontlines for more effective combat or as part of tactics to lure in the enemy and so on, that's nothing new, that's done since 1000s of years.

Smoke doesn't mean much. Nearly everything produces smoke after struck by a missile or alike, including the missile itself.

@commissaryarrick9670 Winning a war is about reaching a set goal. The goal of US fascism was to conquer vietnam and make it a proxy against China, just as they tried in Korea and many others. They didn't reach that. That's why they lost. Goal of the Ukrain war is to push Russia into chaos and regime change. Also does not work at all. So they at least try to ruin Ukraine as much as possible, so they can pillage it.
