There's a quote (it's from a game) that I like because it's so on point. The character talks about demons there, but when you look at faith, demons are often just seen as evil people anyway. It goes like this: Whatever a demon says will either be a lie, try to cover up another lie - or is something even more dangerous: a halftruth. People think that the lies from the system are just as black and white as the picture the system wants to paint ( we good, they evil), but it's a giant net of lies in all directions even fighting each other, but that too is part of the system.
