I think what people don't get is, when they look at the map, how big that area is. The area Russia controls is bigger than for example the whole country of Greece.

The whole idea with 'cutting the landbridge in half" is just insane, following the idea, that this is just some kind of rubber band, that when you cut it snaps back and is gone, while in reality, they would create a bloody cauldron for themselves, being flanked from two if not three sides plus whatever Russia is able to do via air AND sea. Russian border to the east will make it close to impossible to cuth further in, while the Dnirp on the west will make it hard to impossible to flank the troops coming from there. And the idea to bombard Crimean bridge, well, you would have to bring your launchter pretty close to that area... what will put them at a very high risk to just be destroyed. And they don't have many weapons with that range. We talk about 100km of sea to the bridge alone if you stand right at the coast.
