  1. It's just greed and desperation. The west - and that since a very long time - wants Russia's gigantic reserves of natural resources. And meanwhile it NEEDS them. Europe never had much and even less left. And the endless hunger of the US system is so massive, that it burns to the meager rest of US resources at gignatic speed. What it has left is MAINLY coal and wood. Not really something you can run an Empire on.
