@stephenoneill245 You don't just shoot at every single unit that come into range. Russia is know for letting the enemy come and feel save in their positions, then deliver devastating strikes at the right moment. You peopel think this is a videogame with some small map. Ukraine is a very big country and even those 20% that Russia secured is bigger than many countries on this planet.

@CommonSenz This starts with the absurd idea, that Russia is holding that city in the first place and could be encircled there. You may have some forces there, just as those forces at the frontline, but the majority is far behind that frontline. You can't encircle the Russian army in Bakhmut, becaue they are simply not there in the way you think.

Military actions this size aren't about "we do this to reach that" alone. It's FAR more complex. That's the major reason why people don't see to understand it. They got some simple video game or movie idea in their head. We talk about HUNDREDTHOUSANDS of soldiers here following dozens if not hundreds of parallel going local tactics as part of a giant, very complex stratety and none of those tactics are that one crucial one, you don't act like that, because it's FAR to risky.
