I hardly ever say this, but Mini is actually one of the few automakers that I think should just dive full-on into the EV game ASAP. Makes a lot of sense for the small, athletic cars they offer, and could provide an opportunity to breathe new life into some of their more niche models like the convertible and the Clubman. Yes, the stickshifts and gas engines would be missed, but I still think it’d be the right move. Provided they can get the range/charging times improved, of course.

@ARCNA442 Mini’s already kinda moved upmarket, though, into this whole premium-but-not-quite-luxury netherworld where automakers like Acura and Mazda are. If they could keep prices reasonably comparable to their existing gas models and make the range more competitive, I could see a lot of current owners making the switch. And models like the 2 door Cooper and Convertible are so small anyway that they already lend themselves well to being second cars.
