HEY THAT’S MY CAR! I’ve been super happy with mine over 3.5 years and 50k miles. It has its cons and shortcomings for sure, but none have been overly annoying to me and it’s fit me so well and better than anything else in this segment would. Sure, there’s less space than, say, a Civic hatch, but I’ve fit my bike in the back with the front wheel off and the back seats down, and the only person I’ve driven who hasn’t fit in the back seats is my 6’3” dad. Love that they’ve kept this as a different and off-the-beaten-path choice in this segment, and though I do think it appeals to a very thinly sliced niche of the market who appreciates Mazda’s way of doing things and can live with the Mazda idiosyncrasies like the click-wheel infotainment and driving-info-only gauge cluster (both of which I actually appreciate a lot), if you fit in that niche, there’s nothing else quite like it.
