  1. To Subaru’s credit, this whole Wilderness trim idea is a good one. Here in the NW, there are tonsssssss of Crosstreks and Outbacks running around with modifications like this. I’m sure they’ll find plenty of interest in these.

  2. “Why do I have a CVT?” BRZ aside, it’s the only auto Subaru’s got. It’d probably take a lot of cost and time (and my guess would be in Subaru’s judgement, more than it’s worth) to engineer, say, a version of the 8-speed auto Toyota uses just for one trim of one or two models. Gotta keep in mind that Subaru’s a small company, even if they have a relationship with Toyota.
