  1. As things are going, I expect Youtube to allow it to be optional for a while. In the mean time, the AI will get better and better because of all the feedback it will get from the users who do decide to opt in. Then when the AI is trained enough that it reaches a level that Youtube is confident it will correctly spot the "problematic opinions" at a near 100% rate, they will silently enforce it on the entire site.
