  2. Three hundred years ago witch trials pretty much ceased in England. It's more something from the late middle ages (14th and 15th century). I don't think the number ever reached 'hundreds of thousands' in Great Britain, my guess would be in the order of maybe several thousands. Men were killed for being witches as well btw.
