  1. The ones that migrate are often those already better off. Also, the entire family might chip in. For them this is an investment. Once these people come to Europe, they get a job (or more often, welfare benefits) and they will then send a portion of that back home. I suspect that this is also why countries like Morocco don't take back their own citizens: They provide a steady revenue stream.
