Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

@BatteredWalrus Americans have been convicted before in Russia for similar crimes, even before the war the in Ukraine. And see admitted to the crime. It's very simple, she broke Russian law, intentionally or not, and now she has to pay the price.

@SusanOnTVShows He's holding the entire south east of Ukraine hostage. He has no need for a mediocre basketball player. And she admitted to it because she got caught red handed and knows there is no use lying about it.

@bluedreamchicago9319 She confessed to it, so that's irrelevant speculation.

@SusanOnTVShows If she gives no indication that she was coerced, very calmly explains that she did it, why she did it, that she did not realize it was a crime and that she is very sorry, then I am willing to take her at her word.

@SusanOnTVShows We don't know if a deal was struck at all. Just because you can imagine it, does not mean that is what actually happened. If she felt wronged in some way she would've made it known already, through a spokesperson or whatever. All signs hint at that this is no more than what it appears to be: when she packed her bag she did not realize or care that these substances were illegal in Russia and being oblivious of the risk she was taking, she got caught. There is nothing farfetched about it and as long as there is no evidence to support anything more, there is no point in embellishing it.

@SusanOnTVShows Unlike Griner, Paul Whelan maintains his innocence. Maybe he is guilty, maybe he is not. If he is guilty, then it would mean he is a spy and it's justified that he is imprisoned by Russia. Though, if he spied for the US government, I think it's only normal that the US government tries to get him home.

@SusanOnTVShows You're the one who seems to be desperate here.

@SusanOnTVShows How about you just wait until she's back, this year or ten years from now, and if she then supports whatever you believe happened, that she was coerced and that the substances were planted, you come back here and tell me about it.
