@pumper1us Not sure why you try to make this about discrimination against women when Leviticus talks about male homosexuality. Female homosexuality is mentioned, just not there. Also not sure what 'animals having tried it' is supposed to prove.

No, what I say is that this is what the bible says on the matter. It is up to society if they want to enforce this or not. So that's not up to me. Also if they 'hurting others' or not doesn't matter. It is still a sin.
1
@pumper1us If this is true, then why do the same verses appear in bible translations of other languages? If you think that there is some original bible that was not anti or even pro gay then you're mistaken. As for the suicide. The only thing he is found guilty of is invasion of privacy, not the death of Tyler Clementi.
1
'Not willing to accept it'? I said over and over he is guilty of invasion of privacy. And if he is guilty of the kid's death, then why isn't he convicted for that?
1
Actually he accidentally recorded the first encounter and he didn't 'paste them all over the internet'. He only showed it to one other person. And that was a recording of a kiss. Maybe you should familiarize yourself with the case.

Even if that was the straw, how does that make him responsible? How could he know that Clementi would behave so irrational as to take his own life? Especially since he made no secret about his homosexuality. And if Ravi couldn't have known, why then consider him guilty of more then for what he is convicted? And then of course the fact that he already wrote the suicide letters and already investigated the bridge before all this happened.

The bible condemns the act regardless if the sinner is gay or straight. As for people being envious, just because someone is not gay, does not mean they are without sin. Everyone is a sinner and fall short of the glory of God.

He is guilty of invasion of privacy.(and not 'spying', seriously o_O) I've mentioned this so many times already so I'm not sure why you're under the impression I said he isn't guilty of anything. But he isn't guilty of the other guys death , I copy/pasted what he actually is found guilty off in a previous reply just one or two below, or you can view the verdict or look it up on wikipedia. Hence I said it is you who is in disagreement with the verdict.

Actually the bible says that the blood will be on their own hands. And if you think that the God of the bible is against 'killing anything or anyone' you clearly haven't read the bible.
1
I'm saying he isn't guilty of manslaughter nor of murder. I even quoted that which he was found guilty on. I'm not sure what your issue is here, you're the one disagreeing with 'the rest of the world and the courts'. You don't have to give in on anything. If you want to believe whatever it is that you believe then that's fine with me.
1
@pumper1us He's not being blamed for his death. As for the word 'gay', it meaning homosexual is modern usage. You should look up Leviticus 20:13.

It doesn't matter what you think of it. The family of Clementi won't pursue this because even they know Ravi isn't guilty for the suicide. My impression is you just don't know what you're talking about. Why not inform yourself first before spouting your 'opinion' and then declaring it can't be challenged 'because it's your opinion'? Go read this for example: abcnews(.)go(.)com/blogs/headlines/2012/03/rutgers-ravi-i-wasnt-the-one-who-caused-him-to-jump/

I'm not criticizing anyone. Just pointing out that the bible says its an abomination in the eyes of the Lord, that the punishment the bible gives for this is death and that those who engage in that behavior will not see the kingdom of Heaven. Not sure why you say they have no control over their behavior. It's not being gay, but the homosexual act that the bible speaks out against.
1
@pumper1us You said he was responsible for the suicide, while I said he was only responsible for the invasion of privacy. That's also what he's found guilty off.
1
The commandments don't really need much interpreting. It's very clearly spelled out and one only has to read it. As for this case, he's not found guilty of the gay kid's death. Only of the spying part. I think I mentioned this a few times already.

The new testament did not do away with the old testament. Jesus said that he did not come to destroy the law or the prophets. So murder is still a sin. As for Jesus not saying anything about homosexuality, the Bible is inspired by God and Jesus is God. And regarding your manslaughter claim, 'On March 16, 2012 Ravi was found guilty of bias intimidation, invasion of privacy, hindering apprehension and witness tampering.' No manslaughter, no murder.

@AvangingAngel Doesn't the Lord our God tell us that if a man lies with another men he should be put to death?
1
Nice job ignoring the fact that he was already planning his suicide before the whole ordeal with the 'spying' started. If they had an opportunity to pin the suicide on Ravi they would have gone for it, but they didn't because they couldn't. His mother probably was the one that drove him to it, but of course its much easier to blame some foreign kid.
