@Haya Abdullah These migrants are not Libyans, though. The very reason that they try to travel through Libya is because order has broken down.

@Haya Abdullah They're from countries on Africa's West and East coast, and also from Syria. You talk as though you're in Libya right now, so I am surprised you apparently don't know this. So no, they're not your countrymen. These people went to Libya because there is no longer an effective government to keep them out.

@Haya Abdullah If they were Libyans I would be sympathetic, but most of these people are not fleeing wars nor poverty. They're often of the wealthier middle class (poor people can't afford the thousands of dollars needed for these journeys). They move through many safe countries, and the reason that they don't apply for asylum there is that is not what drives them. My issue with these NGOs is that they're are the ones that keep this going. Everybody knows that you can't cross the Mediterranean in a rubber boat. The reason why these people keep trying this (and sometimes end up drowning) is because these NGOs give this way of entry the appearance of being feasible.
